There is a petition to change the name of Stonewall Jackson JRHS in Charleston because it is named after a Civil War confederate general. If simply being associated with the confederacy is enough for someone to petition that Stonewall Jackson's name be removed from a school than I would think that I can see removing Byrd's name for his association with the Klan. Both moves would be as equally ignorant considering both of their contributions to the state of WV historically.

Yes, saw that story. No doubt that the woman that started it (I watched her interview) is out to make national news and a name for herself. She's a "glory hound", piggy backing off a legit national story to try to get her 15 minutes of fame. The community won't back her though. It's not changing. But, if it does change, then I'm going to protest changing the name of a city in Maryland (Benedict).....for obvious reasons.....even though it wasn't named for Arnold....still, traitor name. And force everyone with the name Benedict (which hopefully for their sake, there aren't any...haha) to change their names as well.
