Aside from tommy, McMullen, and bando we have good players who keep us in games. Coaches not so much.
You loaded up and played almost perfect defense. Other than this, we all knew Armstrong was going to self-destruct, and it went according to script.
Maybe you needed just one more week of practice to even things up a little
Iowa pretty much just ran the clock out in the 4th quarter from an offensive standpoint. Didn't need to take any chances being up 2 scores.
Iowa played its worst game of the year. Yet we still won unlike MSU did in Lincoln.
And the flip side is Iowa played one of its worst games on the road before a very loud and hostile crowd at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln and still won.
At no time did I think Iowa was going to lose that game. It's the same every week. We have only trailed in one game this year.

It wasn't a good matchup for Tommy. Iowa sits back and dares him to take the underneith stuff all game and he just can't do it. Iowa was a superior coached and disciplined team, they knew if they got to their spits that Tommy would put a few up for grabs and Iowa executed the ints.
It is no accident that iowa has never trailed in the 4th qtr and very few minutes in the second half. Think about that statistic.... It is amazing.
