A chance to build a decent lead and......not to be.
Key at bat was Bradford, with 2 on and 1 out. He got ahead 3-0 in the count, then took a strike, fouled one off and whiffed to strike out. Ahead 3-1 in the count and can't find a pitch to drive.
Brownlee then walks to load the bases and Parks can't get one out of the infield. 2 runs in an inning is a huge inning for this team this year. Arkansas has outscored their opponents from the 6th inning on by 93-39 this season.

Bradford worked the guy at much as he could, but the guy made the pitch - a wicked breaking ball - and it took guts to do it. Then Parks hits it hard and puts it in play, that's all you can ask, hit the baseball and good things can happen.
He threw 3 straight balls to go 3-0, but Bradford didn't foul off a bunch of tough pitches. But never mind that.
Would you accept that the NEXT inning just completed is a microcosm of our season.
1st batter walks, we give up an out to bunt him over on an 0-1 count. Then we take a called 3rd strike on an 0-2 count. And then we strike out swinging on an 0-2 count. So after teh leadoff walk by their pitcher, he never throws another ball in any count and gets 3 straight outs leaving a runner in scoring position.

</div><div>I may voice my opinion on certain plays, certain games.....but I don't make dumbass emotional general statements that may apply one day and not the next. My main complaint was baserunning and the starting of less than our best position players....but it seems like those have started to clean up. All coaches make bad decisions - if we finish with 25 wins, Cohen should be judged, if we win 30, well, we should acknowledge improvement.</div><div>

but until then, let's continue to analyze this team's play on the diamond. Because several people just jumped back on the wagon after a Sunday victory, which followed 5 straight less than impressive outings that ended in losses.
It is great to get a victory. Be greater to not have 5 game losing streaks, then get a victory, then 3 game losing streak then get a victory. Maybe a 3 game win streak would be nice, following a 5 game losing streak. Let's see if they can pull that off.
So...let's see in May if we fixed that.... But let's not stop talking about the team until May. That wouldn't be any fun.
