We should use Holloway the way the Eagles use Sproles

Have we ever seen what Holloway could do in open space? Last I remember was Spring Game in '13

I don't think the issue is how we use Holloway as much as Holloway's inability to make people miss.

He definitely hasn't been what I was hoping and expecting him to be. He does have talent and potential, but that's not worth much. That's usually just what people say about a player that doesn't amount to much.

Perfect description. We've seen him one-on-one in space several times and he just gets lit up. Maybe nobody can catch him from behind, but the defense starts in front of him.

For that matter, JRob has been wide open in the flat for about three weeks now. If Dak would check it down to him more often his completion rate would be about 70% and Robinson would have 100 rushing/100 receiving damn near every game.

He has looked better every week.

State's offense will truly become lethal if they can get Holloway's speed coming out of the backfield, Tubby coming across the formation, and Dak's physicality up the middle.

He's averaging less than 4 yards per touch against the soft underbelly of our schedule, and you want to say he's passing the eye test? Dak and Josh Robinson are both averaging about 6.5 yards per touch. They're passing the damn eyeball test.

He will be a nonfactor against any SEC team on schedule.

I think he could be a factor if they used him properly. Running him between the tackles will not ever work. I don't care if you are doing it to keep people honest. It just won't work. Create plays to put him in space.

There were several reports over the fall with players saying when he got in space they couldn't touch him. Like others I've yet to see it outside one run in the UAB game where a shoestring tackle kept him from breaking a big one. That said we've either run terribly blocked jet sweeps or run him between tackles so far. I'm make final judgement when I see him on a screen or swing pass that let's him attempt to make a true 1-on-1 move. Until then he's Fred Reid 2.0

I also agree to Tubby is our best "make you miss guy". I haven't seen anybody on our team even close come to his ability to make a defender miss.
