are you 12?

Either we want: 1) To be upset and rip our hair out for under achieving with talent, but we're very competitive
-OR- 2) We're going to sign guys who play with "grit" and "toughness" and be patient while we build a program that may or may not ever get back to where it was.

As of right now. I'll take #1. Maybe I just need to be patient though, but by the way it looks right now, it's going to take years to be a decent team judging by the way he's recruiting right now (4 three stars currently committed). He doesn't seem like the type to go after blue chippers.

Sorry, but that's just an ignorant statement. He inherited a disaster... and has a hard playing, talented team. We need more. They are coming. Rick Ray will win big. I rarely respond to crap like this, but REALLY?

I got on board with letting Stans go, but I was duped by the anti-Stans folks into thinking that anybody would be an upgrade from where we were. Now I don't think that. Ray may turn out ok, but so far I'm losing any interest at all in basketball. And that saddens me because I used to enjoy basketball season.

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. The roster last year was almost non-existent for a number of reasons, so I don't even count last year against Ray. We would've been bad under Stansbury too last year, but I can't help but think he would've brought in SOMEBODY to make us competitive this year. We still may be competitive, but the roster still seems incomplete.

Year 4 of Ray, we'll be fine. I can't recall a bigger rebuilding in sports other than the SMU death penalty in football.
I agree the pantry was pretty much bare last year, but this just isn't the same. In college basketball, one or two players can take you from a bad team to a tournament run team. Take this team and add a decent big body for depth behind ware, a good spot up shooter like Steele or Ravern or somebody like Malik Newman(not happening, I know). That team would win a LOT of games. But Ray is still building depth and looking for that star.
