We will continue to get our butts kicked by Ohio State

Ohio State invested in top flight coaches and takes a relentless approach to recruiting.

We have spent the post-Osborne era debating the merits of walkons and waiting for something good to happen instead of making it happen:

--Solich: Poor recruiter

--Callahan: Bad assistant coaching

--Pelini: Poor recruiter

--Riley: Bad assistant coaching

The one thing that connects all the Post-Osborne coaches is psychologically fragile teams that wet the bed against good teams.

If this program wants to return to it's glory years it needs to get serious about having top talent and assistants simultaneously because the current college football royalty will.

No one cares that we used to be good. As long as our program is looking at guys like Ryker Fyfe to slay a beast like Ohio State, we will continue to a laughingstock.

Since you can see the future, can you please give me the winning powerball numbers for next week. Thanks

Bo's mismanagement of his roster has put Riley in a tough situation. It's just gonna take a few more years to get things straightened out as far as quality depth goes. Riley has to recruit athletes first if we have any chance of competing with OSU or Michigan in the future. It was painfully obvious how we were outclassed athletically. Any lower rated recruit (diamond in the rough) must be a physical freak to justify a scholarship! It's a tough gig when we constantly get smoked in meaningful primetime games

Omg, we've had more 4 and 5 star visitors than the past 7 years combined. Don't be dumb.

I agree. To look at our qb and o line depth/talent you would have thought the program was on probation under Pelini.

Riley's assistant coaching decisions were very questionable though. Hiring friends was a bigger priority than improving our program.

Banker is along for the ride. He's not going anywhere. Langsdorf I'm told will be a HC soon...he's that good. Forget about OSU...we have to figure out how to win our division first. If Wiscy doesn't lose again and we fail to win the division in year 3 I'm not sure it happens under this staff. 2018 schedule is brutal so unlikely it happens that year.

Do you have a source for this? That Riley just wanted to hire buddies?
Langs came from the Giants.
Bray? Superstar in the making.
Davis from the 49'rs, worked with Harbaugh.
Wasn't Stewart a D coordinator?
Parrella?
Williams? WR's hate that guy.
Phillipp, if you can't see the improvement in S&C, you're blind.

We were in position to make plays early on, but just didn't have the horses to get it done. By late in the 2nd quarter we were demoralized and the game was over.

Luckily this staff has set the bar higher with recruiting. I'm thankful that Ryker works hard, but I don't think he's a D1 football player. Just my opinion. I was hoping for POB last night.

Langsdorf spent what...one year with the Giants? This is the guy who got his play calling duties stripped at Oregon St because of their struggles. Banker and Riley are tied at the hip and that's unfortunate for us. Bruce Read? Has he done anything to warrant his salary let alone be on this staff? I think Riley will do what is necessary to win outside of getting rid of Banker. And I think we know enough about Banker at this point to say it's unlikely we will have championship level defense under him.

Sarcasm. Last week we were told Langs is so good he will be a HC very soon. I say it's more likely the play calling duties get taken away....again.

I agree on the first point. Regarding the second, I think it's a matter of time to get the personnel we need. You can only adapt your offense so much to the personnel you have when you're quickly down by 21 points.

Hopefully we will soon have depth everywhere, but as you probably know, qb is tricky. I'm pretty sure Bauserman was not the only other qb recruit at OSU behind Miller. We seem to be stocking up on qb's but keeping more than one happy will be tough. So more Fyfes as backup qb is a real possibility.

Riley HAS to hire guys that can coach in his system. DL just came from the Giants for heavens sake. IMO, our position coaches are not the problem. As Barry Switzer said, it's Jimmies and Joes not the Xs and Os. We need better Jimmies and Joes and our coaches will be fine. Riley's staff are working their *** off on gettin em. JHMO.

Why was Langsdorf with the Giants? Could it be because Riley relieved him of his play calling duties?

Let's see....assistant at Oregon State OR QB coach to aSuper Bowl winning QB. Hmmm which would you do? It's calling moving to advance your career.

You mean...assistant who was relieved of his play calling duties right? Why would Riley do such a thing?

Do you really think it really mattered who was calling plays last night? Hahahaha. Give it a rest. In the past roughly 10 months you wanted Miles, Erstad and now Langsdorf fired.. Geez I hope you're good at your job. If not at least you're good at criticizing how others do theirs..

Unless we are winning championships he's busy throwing bricks at his television and kicking the dog. We get it. He's not happy... about anything. He comes to this board, not for discussion, but to admonish others for not seeing the suck as he does.

Coughlin wasn't happy he left, probably because he sucked? This is all worthless conversation, the staff hasn't even had 2 full seasons, come complain after the 5th.
