We will win tonight by scoring in the paint and a few....

I disagree. I think the only chance we have is to rain threes on them. LSU is too big inside and the three pointer is a heck of an equalizer. If we start forcing it inside we will get killed.

This "LSU is too big inside" myth needs to be put to bed. They start Tasmin Mitchell, a small forward, at the power forward spot. He's only 6-7 which is far smaller than pretty much everyone else in the league other that us at the PF spot. Because of this, Phil should actually match up better against him than he does against other teams in the league. Then Jarvis vs. Chris Johnson is basically a wash. Johnson has a couple inches on him heighth wise, but Jarvis's length makes up for that. Not to mention he's a better player than Johnson.

The issue is that Tasmin Mitchell is probably the best 4 we play. Most 4's in the league that we've seen thus far aren't very good, and therefore, teams have a tough time taking advantage of our small line up.

And that's a totally different issue than them being too big inside. You're probably right about Mitchell being the best 4 we face, but that's a skill issue not size. Size- wise it's probably Phil's best matchup.

they have a guy that's 6'7" that can play.

6'7" is not that undersized for a college 4. Rhodes was 6'8".

We win tonight by playing defense. Last time, we gave up 24 to Mitchell and 31 to Thornton. The pressure is on Phil and Barry to stop these guys.

As far as the inside game goes, Jarvis scored 18 on them, the most he's scored in any SEC game. I agree we shouldn't force the ball inside, but it's not like we don't have a prayer in the paint.

I still don't think size is an issue. Mitchell is a SF playing at PF. Plus Phil did pretty well against JaMichael Green and Perry Stevenson, two decent to good PFs. We didn't lose to LSU because of size. We lost because Jarvis didn't show up and because Dee had one of his few "freshman" games this year.

did not show up. I recall him scoring plenty (someone said 18) but dont recall his rebounding nos. I think his problem is Johnson. Johnson is one of the more athletic guys he faces.

so it's fair to say he didn't show up defensively compared to his usual numbers. However, Johnson only scored 2 points.

and Mitchell killed us. I think they are one of the teams that can really take advantage of our small line up.

Jamychel Green is not Tasmin Mitchell and he still had a double double against us. Perry Stevenson didn't hurt us b/c we were able to sag Bost and Ravern in the lane b/c KY has 4 guys that don't like shooting the three on the floor. We can't do that against LSU.
