Never understand...if he gives up a hit or two then take him out and put Holder in. He was pitching great.

Because Holder is our All-American closer

It was a save situation in a game we needed to win. Really a no brainer, even though Holder didn't pitch well tonight.

Plus allows us to use him again when necessary...

Pitched very few pitches. And who woulda thunk Holder walks 3 batters and throw a wild pitch. I think he had 11 walks and only a few wild pitches all year. I think he was too pumped up. Hey, we won an ugly game. Graveman battled, we used Girodo for an inning and 2/3, and Holder for one. Still have Polo and Lindgren to start and bullpen fully loaded. We are in good shape for tomorrow.

Also those that questioned using Graveman look at the other SEC schools that didn't pitch their number 1. 5 losses, 5 number 2's pitching.

Girodo throws 3 innings he is proably done for the weekend. We may need him tomorrow for a strikeout situation.

I've never been a fan of taking a pitcher out when he's pitching well. Fortunately, it worked out for us.
