I was tempted to post something snarky about not really giving a crap, but old habits die hard and, who knows, maybe we're competitive or even pull off the huge upset.

Anyway, weather-wise, it's looking decent with the forecast for seasonable high temps in the low 50s (normal is 52/36F for high and low) and dry conditions for the game and tailgates, although there is rain forecast for Friday into Friday night, so the precip timing needs to be watched to ensure the system doesn't slow down and move the rain into Saturday.

A SHORT WAVE IMPULSE IS THEN FORECAST TO EJECT OUT OF THE LONGER
WAVELENGTH TROUGH AND INTO THE GREAT LAKES REGION IN THE THURS
NIGHT/FRIDAY TIME FRAME. THE ECMWF AND CANADIAN ARE MORE AMPLIFIED
THAN THE GFS...ALTHOUGH SEVERAL GFS ENSEMBLE MEMBERS SHARE THIS
STRONGER SOLUTION. NONETHELESS...ALL SOLUTIONS INDICATE A GOOD PLUME
OF MOISTURE PRECEDING THE UPPER WAVE. THIS STILL JUSTIFIES THE
FAIRLY HIGH POP FOR THIS EARLY IN THE FCST THURS NIGHT INTO FRIDAY.
A GRADUAL COOLING TREND IS THEN FORECAST THROUGH AT LEAST THE FIRST
HALF OF NEXT WEEKEND IN THE WAKE OF THIS WAVE AND WITH LONGER
WAVELENGTH TROUGHING FCST TO ENVELOP THE UPPER MIDWEST/GREAT LAKES
REGION.

It's like a time warp.... back to pre-Schiano days. The anticipation of the new football season quickly turns to " when does basketball start".

I can see interest is high in this game, lol. FWIW, lock it up for cool and dry for Saturday, as any rain will definitely be over by Friday afternoon. Should start out in the upper 30s Sat morning and reach around 50F for a high, with plenty of sunshine and a little wind (~10 mph); temps will drop into the mid-40s by the end of the game. Football weather. Enjoy.

Thanks for the update. Those who went to Wisconsin had to endure crappy weather in addition to a lousy performance. Hopefully your forecast holds. My sister has a big day of campus touring and tailgating planned.

Hmmm. My campus & Ann Arbor tour will be on Friday so this is not making me happy.

What time is your tour? Morning looks wet, but the current forecast calls for drying out in the afternoon and mild temps (low 60s) in the afternoon, but it'll be windy (15-25 mph with some higher gusts), as the front comes through.

Looking out 17 days for West Point,Accu-Weather has forecast rain on the 21st and showers on the 20th and 22nd.If the worst happens,it'll at least be a day game and not the nightmare of 2007.

@RU848789 we have an 11am tour. Me, MrScrew, @RutgersRaRa & @gunboat and his wife. some of it is driving, some is walking. I'll just bring a poncho and an umbrella and remember I'm a Rutgers fan and rain is in our blood!
Yep, will likely be a close call, but I'm sure you guys will enjoy it rain or shine. Until last week, I had every intention of going to this game, but the combo of insane workload (into Friday night) and, frankly, a bit of apathy regarding the season, led me to change my mind. Had a host in the Cleveland suburbs all set up, too - he's a die-hard UM fan, who comes to one RU game per year (he's the brother of one of our regulars). Will have to wait for 2017, I guess. Always wanted to go the Big House, since I was about 7 years old, as Michigan was my favorite team until I enrolled at RU in 1980; I still root for them otherwise, although Harbaugh makes that a bit tough.

funny thing...we are actually leaving in a couple of hours to spend tomorrow in Cleveland then head to AA on Friday morning in time for our tour. I've been blessed with 50 yard line indoor club seats (from Jack Roth's brother and sister in law who happen to be my neighbors) so I know win or lose I'll at least be sitting somewhere that doesn't suck.

#'s -keep the weather updates coming. Looks like we will see a pretty good drop in temps from when we fly out on Friday to game time Saturday.

Mrs Screw -do you really have to mention your just so special club seats in every post. The rest of us will be with the unwashed masses in the end zone.

The good news for the Screws et al is that it now looks like any Friday rains should be mostly over by 7 am or so, with only a few scattered showers possible after that and sunshine in place by late morning - still windy, though.

And for the game, the one big change vs. earlier forecasts is that the winds are now forecast to stay up through Saturday, with winds of 15-20 mph during the game (with gusts of 25-30 mph). Give our putrid passing game, maybe this helps. Still looks like a high around 50F and partly sunny and dry conditions for tailgates and the game, with temps dropping into the 40s in the 2nd half of the game.

I have compete faith in your forecasts, #'s. Just did my final pack for trip to UM. Based on your forecast, I left behind the still rain soaked poncho from Wisconsin!

The NWS has backed off the winds for Saturday, just a bit, with winds now forecast to be in the 10-15 mph range with maybe a few gusts to 20 mph or so. The rest of the forecast (high near 50F and partly sunny) has not changed. FYI, winds are notoriously hard to forecast, since they're a function of pressure gradients resulting from various high and low pressure systems at a macroscale, as well as a function of localized effects such as temperature gradients and, sometimes, how much vertical mixing is occurring between mid-levels of the atmosphere (where there's less friction and winds are faster) and the surface. Just think about how wind speeds are changing nearly constantly and that indicates how hard they are to forecast.

I am good with less wind. Sounds like a pretty good early November forecast for Ann Arbor. Should be there by dinner time.

And, of course, the NWS has reversed field and gone back to the same, windier forecast they had yesterday, i.e., 15-20 mph sustained winds and gusts to 25-30 mph during the afternoon. Like I said, winds are very hard to forecast - let's see what actually materializes. They even had the gall, lol, to have introduced a slight chance of a brief light shower or two during the afternoon, which will still feature partly cloudy skies for the most part - not enough to worry about (<0.02"), but a nuisance nonetheless.

So, were there any showers yesterday in Ann Arbor? Just curious and am too lazy to look it up...

Peeking ahead, it's looking cool and dry for next Saturday, behind a front that should sweep through late Thursday; too early to rule out an instability driven light shower or two, but no major rain is in the cards.

No showers to speak of. A few drops, sort of like someone urinating on our heads and telling us its just a little shower--like we get all the time with RU football

We left Cleveland Friday morning in rain. It had poured all night into early morning. By the time we hit western Ohio it had stopped & it was sunny skies all day Friday & Saturday in Ann Arbor.
