Well lets get it started, Burns has had 2 weeks to study us and prepare.
David, if your reading this, love ya bro, but its going to be all Shelby.
Shelbys D will be way to much for Burns to move ball.
And ive heard Burns D not bad, so another good test for Shelbys offense.

I expect Coach Devine to have his squad ready to play this week and with having a bye this past Friday will give them a extra week of practice to prepare for Shelby..Shelby needs to stay focused and continue to improve with a lot of big games coming up.

I would say no but the Shelby v Crest game is always worth the drive and price of admission. Actually that's one game that I never miss !

I'll be the first Burns poster. I think we're all on the 3A boards, not used to dropping down here. Thank you to the posters who say it will be closer than people think, but right now I just don't see it. I really don't even see it being close for a while and Shelby pulls away late. I think our defense will be able to hold their own a little. However, if our failures on offense give Shelby short fields (which is what I think may happen), it will be very tough. Even if we don't score, we have to move the ball a little so we can make Shelby have to drive. I do know one thing though, we will play very hard. That's one thing Devine can get out of our inexperienced "youngins."

Yes MC is off this week and this was one of the games I had circled. However I am gonna be in Greenville all day Thursday and have decided to just stick around Friday for Don Bosco and Byrnes in Duncan. That should be a great one I think. Following wekend I am in Vegas so wont be able to see Shelby/Crest.

Byrnes with new HC and off to a 2-0 start. Beat Myrtle Beach 51-0 in opener. Same MB team gave Charlotte Christian all they wanted last week. I dont know if Byrnes is State Title worthy but they are most definatley back. Bosco is Bosco..Recruited up program with maybe one of the best defensive fronts in the country at the HS level.

These are two nationally recognized programs and should be a very good game. Hopefully the weather holds.

I still say that the MC v Byrnes games few years ago was one of the bast games I have ever seen ( the 1st one ) matter of fact it is #1 was fireworks from the 1st play to the last play !! I know it was a heart breaker for the Creek but man it was AWSOME

Dont want to hijack thread but yes. Despite result that would be the best game i have seen in past 5 years. Richmond- Butler 3 years ago close 2nd. Easily the wettest i have ever been as well.

Like BBB said, I usually stay on the 3A boards but idk if we can even keep it close to give us a chance. We will have to play our best football and catch some breaks. I know that our D will be able to get after the QB and pressure him. Shelby Oline looks kinda soft and may be their weakest point if there is a weak link. I think the Shelby QB can hurt us with his legs and pick up some good chunks of yards. If we can get a turnover or 2, maybe we can get a shot at the end. Pulling for my Dogs and theres always a chance!

Could be a somewhat of a trap game with Crest on the horizon. I look for a defensive first half with Shelby pulling away in the second half. 24-7 Shelby

Talked to a Burns coach last night, he ask me if i thought they could move ball against Shelby, my reply was not rushing, may can in the passing, if shelby dont get a rush on Qb.
But im sure coaching staff is working on that.
I do belive Shelby will mix it up with run and pass, which will let them pull off on score

OLine soft huh? They are young but soft by no means but I will make sure they get that feedback especially to my own son.

your comment tells me that you obviously have compromised judgement because your son plays Oline. do not take offense like the rest of the world does these days. I also said that the oline looks to be the weakest link IF THERE IS A WEAK LINK. If you cant handle message board feedback...dont read it. please relay it to your son, as this is not exactly bulletin board material and if he needs to read what an old man has to say to get him extra motivated for a county game..then maybe they shouldn't play.

No obviously you have never strapped a helmet on before. I can handle your feedback and everyone else on here and in the street. Food for thought. Guess who practices against a pretty good defense everyday? They did pretty good to score 22 skunk the #3 3A team in the state.

This guy.......:rolleyes:. Sounds like a player to me, pretending to be a dad. Or you are the dad, living your failed athletic career through your boy. Both are pretty sad.

Sooo, What does the defense shutting out a 3A school have to do with the O line again? Nobody said anything about handling things in the street you Neanderthal. That further proves my point that message board criticism makes you lose sleep at night. Let me go ahead and type your comeback for you that you sleep just fine, yada yada yada... Me having strapped on a helmet before has nothing to do with this conversation. I know where you are from, strapping things on may be the norm but leave that in the bedroom please.

Lastly, If you are gonna make in on the boards, you gotta take things in stride, not everything you read is true and just an opinion mostly. Lighten and be more creative next time you post, have a coke (The beverage for you Shelby folks) and a smile. Got one to take the bait....hooked, line and sinker!

If any of you Burns or Shelby guys are interested East Rutherford and South Caldwell are playing at 6 30 tonight at East.Burns guys can get a look at them before next weeks game.
