Thank you, Bulldog02, NC 182 begins/ends on the west side of town, here, and runs all the way to and right in front of Burns high school…In Lincoln County, it is up and down hills and full of sharp curves, but the part in Cleveland County straightens out into a easy drive. For an old guy, like me, maybe it’s best to go to Waco and turn right…Just a passing thought.

Just ride west until you smell hog manure and faint notes of Stetson cologne. Then look for the dim lit lights coupled with bleecher seats of a stadium that looks like the larger version of a goat auction arena at the typical Tater Tot Town Fairgrounds. Believe it or not, that'll be the place. Just watch your step when you get out of your vehicle. If not you're sure to step in something that resembles a combination of dog poop and tobacco spit. Don't say I didn't warn you!

From Waco to Fallston is pretty curvy too but either way works. Be safe man.

 Spoken like a true cornfed, hayseed tractor jockey.

Listen up there you mangy ole mullet maestro! You Cleveland County cousin kissin' cooters won't know what bit 'em when the merciless jaws of the Wolfpack commence to asserting their dominance over the inferior canines, felines, and equines found in the armpit of the NC foothills. There isn't a pasture pup over there in Dirty Ankle that can endure the vicious onslaught that Lincolnton's finest is about to unleash.

Trust and believe, there'll be so much howling going on in Chicken Coop Crossing that you'll think your best friend Leroy is preg checkin' his heifers late at night again.

The ALPHA dogs of Lincolnton...BY 50!
You sound like the Laura Lynn version of Shelby Lion but damn did I laugh reading it. 😂😂😂

LOL, Does sound familiar…I noticed in the Prodigal Son’s post, he said Shelby Lion has a mullet…I’ve seen mullet mentioned but never knew what it is, until this morning, when I did some research…From what I read, it’s a haircut with longer hair left in the back, even below the collar. It said it denotes individualism and rebellion…Shelby Lion does not have a mullet haircut, actually, he’s pretty clean cut, for those who haven’t seen him…His hair is cut short enough that it would be an acceptable military style.

I’ve know him for over 20 years, and last time I. talked with him, he didn’t have this mullet.
With Shelby Lion’s permission, I will show you an animated picture of what he (Shelby Lion) looks like.I kind of put it together in the way of a composite…How about it Shelby Lion ?

The simple response for a mullet is business in the front, party in the back. If Shelby Lion tried, I think it would be named a skullet. 🤷‍♂️😂

Not sure if I’d ever had enough hair to get one, but if I did, my Father would have beaten me up…He thought everybody’s’ hair should be cut like Harry S. Truman, about an inch-and-a-half long on top, and almost to the meat on the sides…He was born in 1915 and thought the 1930 (not 30’s, just 1930) style was chic.

It was definitely a different Burns team in the second half. The INT’s cannot happen like that. It’s one thing for a tipped pass but you cannot throw up prayers in panic. That took our offense off the field and gave us zero chance. Defense looked gassed from being on the field the entire second half.

Congrats to L-Town. They came out ready in the second half and we just looked confused. The Lynch brother and Mayfield combo kicked our butts when it counted.

NAF1, Bulldogs02, Bulldogs85,mgsouth, sorry if I missed anybody... Guys, thanks for the kind words about Lincolnton. Thank you for being good hosts. They'll be plenty of good times pulling for your team...All the best to you, and Go Bulldogs.

31ocdavis, thank you for saying something my friend. Sorry about the loss to Western Guilford. Hoping for better days ahead.

How did my description of Lincolnton hold up ??
AMD, my friend, you're starting to scare me. I don't want to put you're post on here from earlier in the week. It's painful when your team loses and I don't want the Burns guys to think I'm rubbing it in, but I don't know what to think about you, sometimes... Long time Lincolnton coach V.R. Harris (RIP), would say, "you can't beat a man at his own game." Well, looks to me like you're the man. That's all I got to say about that....Oh. and BTW, Maiden 49 Bunker Hill 0...I think they let you do the pre-game Pep Talk.

Shelby Lion, this is an animated image. I did on AI, this morning. It does not capture each detail, but it would suffice as a facsimile, and I've had some training on this "last century." I wanted to check with you before I put it out there. If your wife doesn't like it, don't tell her who did it, please. So here it is What Shelby Lion looks like.
Please note, I do not know what color your hair is, since I have colorblindness, and have an awful time with
greens, reds and blues, but it does seem to have a hue so I can assume it's not green or blue, and those are the only colors that have a hue that I can see. Anyway, here you go:

O! What savage sport unfolds beneath the silver moon,
Where the pack runs lean and hungry, teeth bared not for meat,
But for conquest! The Wolves — swift as shadows,
Their howls the herald of doom.

And lo! the Bulldogs, stout in bark yet brittle in bone,
Trot forth in bluster, their collars shining brighter than their courage.
They snap, they stumble, they falter —
For what defense hath flesh so soft, when met by fangs of iron will?

See how the pack encircles!
A flank, a rush, a strike most merciless —
The field itself trembles ‘neath the Wolves’ relentless charge,
Whilst the poor hounds lie scattered like ragged toys
Chewed and cast aside.

O pity the Bulldogs,
Whose fight was but a whimper in the din of the hunt!
Yet such is the law of the wild — and of the game:
The stronger feast, the weaker fall,
And the scoreboard bears witness to the banquet.

Thus ring the howls of victory,
Carried upon the night air,
As the Wolves feast not on flesh — but on glory,
Leaving only silence and broken pride in their wake.

….and by the way, were it not for such an ill-equipped and incompetent bunch of zebras dispatched to Lawndale to govern the action this evening, it could’ve and should’ve easily been as I said earlier today. ALPHA DOGS BY 50!

LOL Well done Lincolnton... spittin image.... I have no idea what color my hair is in the pic above as I am red green color blind... In person it used to be dark brown but the gray is slowly taking over..... Asked my wife to look and she said I aint that handsome ha ha ha ha

Reference the game: this version of the Wolves is an issue from an offensive standpoint... That Qb is slicker than a booger in a jar of honey running around back there... 3 is a load on both sides of the ball and that running back aint no slouch either.... They have some good size and speed on both sides of the ball....

Penalties overall were an issue for both: at one point the annoumcer said something like there has been 245 yards in penalties between both sides....ouch

we still have to play both and it wont be a cakewalk thats for sure...

Couple of items of note before we begin !

1. It will take much more , substantially more than this last volley you tossed up! That was more like a chunky kid begging daddy for an extra tater tot with his mayonnaise sandwich! It was a nice try though but you must do better

2. It don’t get embarrassed ! I never stop

but I welcome you ! You are entertaining !! See you in a couple weeks

How delightfully you've dressed your thoughts in Sunday clothes, yet still they smell of the barnyard from whence they came. You strut about like a rooster in a henhouse, all crow and no substance—but we can all see you're just a bantam trying to play with the big birds. Much like the Shelby playbook, your argument has more holes than a backroad in Boiling Springs, and reads like scribble on a napkin written with an array of gnawed Crayola crayons.

You came to this debate armed with a cap gun, thinking the loud pop would fool folks into believing you packed real ammunition. Bless your heart, you've brought a butter knife to a sword fight and somehow managed to cut yourself.

Do yourself a favor....instead of exposing your home as the book-barren shed that it is, try looking up the words you're less familiar with before attempting to scrawl some half-witted stab at pointing out what you thought to be a grammatical error on my part.

Absolutely! Great description. If you would have told me we would have 5 second half possessions and turn it over on 3 of them I would have said you were crazy. We punted once all night. lol Wild game but fun years to come between the two.
BurnsBulldog02, He is something. He must study football, all the time, and even looks at backgrounds, past records and all pertinent numbers.
He even monitors comments on social media and tries to read between the lines, and looks for a big picture.

He also likes controversy…two years ago, Mt.Airy went undefeated and took the title in their classification. As they were celebrating the best of seasons, he told them they were going to lose their coach to Morganton Freedom. It didn’t go over well, but sure enough, they did.

He paid attention to last night’s Burns game…Not that he likes either team but wondering if it would help or hurt their RPI, and knowing that the 4A champion of the Southern Piedmont conference will be decided at Belmont, when Burns plays S. Cramer, and how it could tie in to His team, Maiden.
