Weekly Danny Kanell is an idiot thread

I usually don't address rankings especially those like ESPN's little "Who's In?" show because they just don't matter, but last night's was just stupid even for Kanell.

His fourth team in this week is Notre Dame based solely on the fact that, you guessed it....they played Florida State close.

Never mind that they haven't beaten a team in the top 40 and their biggest win of the season is a three point win at home over a 3-2 Stanford team.

Go figure.

His top 5 one loss teams included none of the SEC West teams and Georgia was the 5th best.

He has Oregon, ND, Michigan State and TCU as the top 4.

It's all for ratings obviously.

I honestly think this is either forced by ESPN or a smart move by Kanell to keep his job on ESPN. He has been the most talked about annalist on the mothership this year. Maybe its all fake to better his career and position. Feels like that when he gets put in a corner constantly.

I agree. Like I am embracing the #1 ranking, he is embracing being the SEC hater.

He laughingly admitted on The Herd the other day that he says stuff he doesn't believe just to get a rise out of SEC fans. It's all about ratings. Kinda like the people who hated Howard Stern the most were the ones who listened the longest.

Yeah, he knows there is an 'anti-SEC' crowd and he is seeking to become their leader. Problem for him is that he is laying it on WAY too thick and that the people outside of the SEC just don't care as much. The Big 10 fans have already moved on to basketball and the west coast just never care as much as the SEC. He is seeking to become the junior senator.
