Yeah 2 frustrating years at that. Not gonna bash him I wish him and his family the best, but he did alot of things that hurt him more than helped him. Numbers went down, injuries piled up and kids were losing interest in playing. Stands were empty and the community was frustrated. These kids practiced from 3 pm to dark everyday (before time went up) and they would play on Friday night and had to be to practice by 10 am Saturday morning. If you missed Saturday practice you didn't play the following Friday. Not all these kids drive. If you missed a practice without his approval you didn't play Friday and that forced kids to play with injuries. Coach Wilkerson is well respected in the school and neighborhood and he's who Coach Gill wanted to take over from the get go.
Good hire, hope to see the Knights back to where they were in the Ragland era!

I see that Buckingham played with lots of underclassmen (especially freshmen)...How good will they be this upcoming season?
I think you will see a major improvement. Coach Wilkerson spent 13 years alongside coach Gill and these kids wanted him 2 years ago. When he left it was the final ingredient for what happened the last two years. Don't know who will run the offense yet but Wilkerson will improve that defense over night.
