After three weeks some things are starting to come more into focus and some things are still cloudy and to be determined. One thing is for sure, the 2A West is going to be wild in late November. Burns, Monroe, Chase,and East Surry look to be the early favorites but we all know Shelby and Reidsville will have something to say about it like always. To much talent and tradition and they are the top of the heap for sure. Let’s not forget about Maiden, who we all know is talented but the score tonight against St. Stephens is interesting. Will it wake them up? All of the teams mentioned will likely run the table for the remainder of their seasons but will anyone begin to solidify themselves as the favorite. Will anyone not mentioned above, come into the mix? There are some 2nd tier teams that I believe will be very dangerous come playoff time like Polk. One thing is for sure, the 3rd round and on are going to be like Ali vs Frazier. Good luck to everyone and buckle up for a Wild 2A West!

Same as last year East Surry is criticized for the weak schedule...but handled their business while flying under the radar and were expected to lose every game they won past the 1st round last year. East Surry systematically went about business while surprising the masses in the 2a playoffs. Don't count them out..weak schedule or not.

I did Say they were top 10. They will have a say in the end of it. The Mount Airy win isn't bad. They probably have a top 2 Qb in 2a as well.

No, Reidsville plays Eastern Alamance this coming Friday. Eastern beat a favored Northern Guilford last night at Northern and will be favored to beat the Rams in Community Stadium.

Massy Rating has Reidsville winning 34 to 28.
Eastern Alamance is ranked 31st
Rams 61st in overall state ranking.
I'm going with the Rams 33 to 21..

My massey site has the Rams winning 31-27 with a 55% chance of winning. Lets see what Brian has to say.

Edited to note Simmons has Eastern Alamance favored by 6 points.

#1 in 3A (could win the 3A 'ship), 2 point loss - blocked extra point/failed 2 pt conversion
#8 in 4A (could win the 4A 'ship), #mistakesweremade
#7 Maxpreps 3A and greatest rivalry in the state of NC, 5 point loss

Strength of schedule early in the season matters a whole bunch....battle tested already. I like our chances.

These are games you guys usually win. You have an amazing program..but i came to your scrimmage.back in early August...and man yallz fans needed to be humbled a bit...whew!! Great team..Great atmosphere...but this humble pie serves ya well for now..but you have earned the right to brag...thats for sure. Just an outsiders take..and was glad to see All the Cleveland county teams. I told one of the Shelby fans during the scrimmage that i didnt think they would go undefeated in the county...I got laughed at🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Eh....see 2013 and 2018.

One of our posters had the best name ever when he used to post...

"ourownworstenemy" or something like that. It still holds true to this day.

No reason to lose to KM....poor tackling...blocked extra point
Absolutely no reason to lose to Crest....blow a 23-0 lead...18 point lead in the 3rd quarter
Burns is the one in the county that I was most worried about and we will see how that pans out.

Again, I like our chances to be playing in December.

I'm worried about you guys as well. We do match up a lot better against you than we do with KM. I think you guys matched up against KM better than us. It's the same idea with Crest, with us having the advantage over you guys. What a crazy game it is.

I actually take them serious, they're well coached and can sneak wins play by play.

Poor tackling is a great reason to lose to KM.

Poor tackling and a lack of pass coverage are also two good reasons and those are the two reasons Shelby lost to Crest.

I only watched the highlights of the ACR debacle and it looked to me like they simply beat the piss out of Shelby.

I'm not being rude. But, you seem to not be able to see a pattern in your 3 losses. You're correct you will likely be playing late into the playoffs but that's because you have superior numbers and talent to most 2a schools. Up to this point however, you've lost to 3 teams that have talent as well two 3a teams and a 4a team. That you played shoddy defense against.

They want have a game until the playoffs. Coach Lowman will score all he can first half and will not run up score. Not sure how they will do against top teams in the west with several really strong teams. Lot of good teams in the area with Mt Airy 1a, East Surry 2a and East Forsyth 4a. Will be good games to see in the playoffs with all three with real shots at championship.
