Finally got a chance to listen to the full audio, and wow, that was tame.

That's quite the overreaction to fire someone over that. Was he mean about Cajun people? Sure.

Chris Vernon made the Yaw Yaw Yaw Football song about Orgeron. No big deal. I hate it for that guy. What it does show is the power of social media though and the mob rule that social media can create. If social media ever turns on you, you're a goner...unless you can somehow hide out until the mob finds someone else to mob.

I just saw a piece about this on Maroon & White Nation and was really surprised that the photo of himself he used was very old. I always thought that he was a young kid and was willing to cut him some slack as he was feeling his way along hadn't learned how to be a journalist. I now see that he was old enough to know better than to go out of his way to anger his readers. The Imes have fired virtually everyone that has ever worked for them, so I'm not surprised that he was fired, just irritated that he was fired for insulting the Cajuns rather than State fans.
