We won't get Liggins, but we'll get both Browns. I don't know why so many people believe Beniquez is going to Auburn. That's not happening.

He will take our hat on the square, so he can fake reach for it before grabbing the Ole Miss hat and putting it on. I hope you're right CB, but I don't think you will be.

...was told this morning he's on campus in Oxford helping to sway some of the Troy and MTSU commits.

But youforgot Jacksonville State. They've wonas manySEC games in the last two yearsas OM has, so maybe they should go to them for recruiting tips.

After Cam and countless others, I won't believe we can beat Auburn on an out-of-state recruit until it happens. Tuberville routinely swept in and took recruits out from under us too. I remember the OL in Auburn that's starting for them now, Slade? And those guys from Ft. Lauderdale a few years ago. Not to mention the guys in MS they get.<div>
</div><div>This guy lives in Alabama and if Auburn wants him they'll likely get him.</div>

Auburn has much more to worry about than securing Beniquez Brown. There is a good chance they get Kwon Alexander, the #3 OLB in the country, and they already have Cassanova McKinzy, the #10 MLB committed. We have zero LB's committed to us right now. Beniquez knows his best shot of playing early is at MSU, he teammate Coman isalready on board, and anyone that knows anything about recruiting, which is obviously not ESPN's experts, knows we lead for him right now by a lot. Auburn has a bunch of other need positions, and they aren't going to just grab a 4 star because he's a 4 star.

He's been planning on committing on signing day for a while now, so just because he isn't pulling the trigger doesn't mean he's waiting to screw us to go somewhere else. He wants his time in the spotlight on signing day, and that's fine with me. He will put on an MSU hat and will become a valuable member of our team.

And just because you live in AL doesn't mean if an in state school offers you that you automatically go there. Florence is Bama and UT territory. There isvery little Auburn influence that far north in Alabama.

except for the Auburn influence in NW Alabama. It's there, and much more than UT. Not as much as Bama though for sure. I lived there.<div>
</div><div>I have actually heard that Auburn will miss on most of those guys. But I also hear Brown is committed to us now. But he doesn't have an offer from Auburn right now either. That changes alot. I'm sure he is committed to us over Ole Miss and UT, wow, big leap of faith there.</div><div>
</div><div>One thing I've been intrigued by. Now that Alabama and Auburn are recruiting more regionally and nationally due to their programs being "up", they've tried to come into MS much less, therefore opening the door for MSU and UM to really rake in the MS talent. They used to be much more of a pain in the *** under Shula and Tubs.</div>

That is just not true. Saban had an in home visit with Fletcher Cox two weeks before he officially withdrew his interest in all other schools and stayed firm to us. Manyof my Bama fans couldn't believe he chose us over them, because they firmly believe he was going toBama and would be immediate impact.Pernell could have gone to some other schools inthe SEC, but in the end we got him. Bumphis had a legit offer on the table from Bama, but he stayed with us. Tyler Russell had a legit Bama offer, and I believe he had an in home with Saban, but ended up staying with us. Kaleb Eulls had offers from all over the SEC and he chose us.

I know these are all in state guys, but they all had the opportunity to go to schools bigger and better than us. We lose our fair share of battles, but we have won some important ones, and these guys will or have already made a huge impact on our team. </p>

I really believe that had Croom stayed on, we would have lost out on at least some of Russell, Cox, Boyd, Bumphis, etc...<div>
</div><div>All of those guys were open to other schools after Croom left. But believing that Mullen actually recruited those guys too would throw a monkey wrench in the whole "mullen can't recruit" and "Mullen spits on recruits dogs during in-home visits" theories.</div>

I'm pretty sure Cox publicly stated that we was back open, and Mullen had to reel him back in. And Bumphis wasn't committed when Mullen was hired, so he had to go get him. Russell was also kind of quietly looking around, and Mullen had to reel him back in too.

This is my thing about Mullen. Everyone hates on him because he doesn't get top rated classes. But right now, you can point to a ton guys on the field that are about to be in the NFL or are already in the NFLthat Mullen had to get or keep.He and his staff develop talent, and there is no one that can dispute how that has translated to the field in the 3 years he's been here. You reallycan't say that about Croom except for a few guys here and there.Cox, Banks, Boyd, McPhee, Gabe Jackson, Chris White, Ballard, Skinner, Cam Lawrence, and Eulls are all either in the NFL or legit NFL prospects.

Bama's 247 mods listed about 20 2013 targets that they know Saban is focusing on. Not one Mississippi guy was listed. zero. Nada. Nunca. Zip. Not having to deal with saban is huge.

...guys with no real other significant offers like Nelson Adams, Adairius Barnes, Torrey Bell, Cole Carter, Devon Desper, Justin Senior, and Gus Walley. Those type guys?

I have come by this recruiting season a few times because I heard Coach was pretending to have sources again. Never wanna miss out on guaranteed comedy when it's offered. Life is too hard not to laugh when you get the chance.

I'm sure Gene will tell you that we desperately want everyone that you get, but...well, you're old enough I'm sure that we shouldn't be having this conversation.

You 17ers would love to have Desper, Carter, and. Pretty much every other one of those you just listed.

It turns out, Jeremy just really wants to play QB. He'd like that to be Oxford because it makes things easier for him, but he doesn't know for sure that we want him as a QB. Freeze says he does, but others cloud his mind. I don't know what Freeze wants, to be honest, but he's telling Jeremy that he wants him as a QB. On the other hand, he can look at MSU's lack of QBs and know that he's going to get a look there. MSU has what...two QBs on the roster? And I think we all know that Tyler Russell may die on the field next year with his immobility (be honest) and your lack of experienced OL play.

Of course the fly in everyone's ointment with Liggins is the weight issue. We're all trying to downplay it as if it's just going to be corrected once he gets to college, but I don't see any way any of us can know what he's going be at weight-wise by the time the season hits. I know it's not as easy to diet as we make it out to be and there's a lot of weight that needs to disappear and disappear permanently.

It seriously doesn't hurt my self esteem to admit that. This recrootin **** apparently eats you rebels up.<div>
</div><div>It's also funny to me how you, likely some suburban middle-aged overweight white guy, talks about "Jeremy" as if you're on a first name basis. The entire notion that you could know what an 18-yr. old black kid is thinking about is creepy and laughable at the same time.</div><div>
</div><div>But, you rebs have that mastered. That's why you all have about the biggest subscription base in the country, even though you have a ****** *** football team to show for it. </div><div>
</div><div>Give it up, douche-cake.</div>

I know all of the talking points. We want every recruit you sign. Your coach is God. Ours is Satan. Your girls are princesses, and ours are filthy whores. You're bastions of freedom, we're filthy racists. You're the working man's hero. We're a bunch of crooked lawyers.

I'm not interested in drunk fan talk. Save your fingers the hassle with the dumb ****. I'm not interested in your type, ya know?

I talk like I know 18 year old black kids because that's what I do for a living. I teach 17 and 18 year old black kids. And I've spoken with Jeremy a few times. That's why I call him Jeremy. Just a quick question because I'm confused...what would you have me call him exactly?

..When MSU football is on the up-tick & OM football is struggling, it's MSU's coach who is Satan & the OM coach coach who is God.

When Sherrill was getting over on Cutcliffe, according to the OM fanbase, Cutcliffe = Christ-like & Sherrill = Satan.

Currently, Freeze = Christlike & Mullen = Satan.

If you want verification of this trend, just read your own damn Ole Miss messageboards.

...then have those disputes with them. I don't have enough time or care to answer for everyone who just so happens to cheer for my school. That said, it's fairly natural to think that the rival school is a horrible place with horrible people. All I'm asking is that you have that conversation with others wh'veo shown themselves to be interested in that kind of thing. While I do want MSU to fail at everything it does, I don't find feces-throwing contests with State fans to be interesting. In fact, being involved in them makes me feel petty.

Being from Memphis and dealing with the ignorant Memphis fans means that you're not even first on my list of disliked fanbases. And being from Memphis and dealing with ignorant UT fans means that you're not even second on my list of disliked fanbases. I may even dislike Vandy more than I dislike you, and I guess I should since they've owned us recently.
