been proven once again as a myth, a hope and a lie by Josh Sills with his move to Okie St. To be fair he is just the latest in a a growing line of campus free loaders who pout at the smallest thing and run off to find a new grid iron or hard court friend. Sad for college athletics. No wonder fewer and fewer folks show up for games or watch. Loyalty is a two way street. So, in the interim screw Sills and the Cowpunks who took him in.

Hate to see him leave. Could have used him but I don't recall him being mentioned as key in the depth chart or projected depth chart for some time. Don't think the coaches were counting on him this coming year so this wasn't totally unexpected. I do wish him well, except for any games he plays against us. And yes, once a mountaineer always a mountaineer.

Buster...nice try at throwing out excuses for Sills leaving. Just a bunch of whining. He's not a Mountaineer. He's a product of today's me first youth...and a jackass. F him.

He didnt leave because he knew he would start here, he was on the downswing it seemed with his play, either laziness or something but doesnt seem like the same loss as it may have seemed like a year ago. Bye Felicia

My guess is he left because the new coaches weren't as high on him as the ones who recruited him. He was hurt most of last season but lets be honest, when he was playing at the beginning of the year, we were at our worst. Our OL was horrible but slowly got better as the really young guys got more reps. We have some bigger guys than him coming in this season. The writing was on the wall for Sills.

Once a Mountaineer always a Mountaineer no matter where they go later in life is the world's greatest truism. If you give everything, including your life, the middle finger instead of a thumbs-up you're just feeding your personal misery. What intelligent person would want to do that? Let's goooooooooooooooo, Huggins Heroes!!!! Take down Kansas like the tornado in "The Wizard of Oz"!!!!

Try thumbs-up instead of middle finger to everything you see and touch. Then you can be as happy as me. Why do you hate a successful, happy 87-year-old man? That says a lot more about you than me. You have my pity.

When a student graduates...

He usually enters grad school.
Just look at Stanford. All their fifth year seniors are leaving not because they don't want to play for David Shaw but because they cannot get into grad school at Stanford.

Oklahoma State may provide him a chance to continue his education and football career more than WVU.

Might not even be about football.

You are the one attacking the guy without even knowing the full story.

The grad transfer rule was put in place so a player could attend grad school anywhere he wants if he has another year of eligibility.

All grad transfers all enrolled in graduate programs. Sometimes the school you play for originally isn't a fit so you move on.

We'll start a prayer chain for your soul. Go kick a dog, beat your wife, yell at children on your lawn or whatever miserable people like you do. Must be sad to live your life losing to an 87-year-old who dances joyfully through life. Grinch already has the job so you're just a backup.

Good grief...you would think a "professional sportswriter " would be able to come up with some new material lol. Okay...bored with your juvenile postings for today...moving on.

Sounds like an Oompa Loompa song

And please stop posting “Huggins Heroes” thing. That just sounds stupid and it takes the focus away from the players. Just my two cents.

Do you think there's a message board where student athletes discuss your personal decisions? Or would you concede you arent special to them?

He left because the new coaching staff isn't getting it done and didn't utilize him as he wished. He has but a few chances to play college football and be successful at it and an even narrower chance to go beyond that, and doesn't want to sacrifice it to Neil Brown's learning on the job technique of coaching

Well Darthy I kind of agree with where you are going. So...let's then concede that the fan mantra of once a Mountaineer always a Mountaineer is a myth and pure BS. Start demanding excellence. Quit forgiving discretions. Etc

Going to a new a school isnt a "discretions".

Am I understanding correctly that he graduated from WVU? Of course he is still a Mountaineer.

He is getting his Masters degree and playing college football...seems pretty excellent to me.

None of that matters. For so many on this board, fans are only as supportive as the amount of pleasure they receive from a player's success.

Choose not to play a bowl game? **** you I hope your career falls apart.

Transfers after graduating? **** you and the millennial "me-first" generation. What about my boomer demand that you play this game for free within my parameters.

Transfers to a lower-level to get playing time after riding the bench on a program above your skill level? **** off you quitter I hope your ears bleed from the yelling and harassment you'll get in the event that you play WVU in an early season warm-up game.

Doesn't transfer but instead toughs it out with little in-game production while maintaining a scholarship spot? **** you, you suck go somewhere else to open a scholarship.

All the while they say stupid **** like, "Welcome Home," to a 17 year old kid from Florida when he signs with WVU. Our fans will pat you on the shoulder with one hand when you're winning and stab you in the back with the other immediately when things don't meet their arbitrary standards and purity tests.

I also notice these fans who preach loyalty never seem upset when WVU lands a top transfer who left some other school....suddenly loyalty takes a backseat when it's to our benefit.

Exactly. Austin Kendall was greeted with "Welcome Home" after transferring from a league opponent. Bolted to WVU because he knew he couldn't beat out Hurts (and I don't begrudge him at all for that).

Welcomed with open arms as a "Mountaineer." He didn't play very well and the fanbase consensus was pi$$ off, let's embrace Doege.......another TRANSFER!!!

It is selfish behavior.

I have a very individualistic mindset so I believe if someone does what is best for themselves you cannot complain.

Truthfully think if people always did what is best for themselves things would be much easier. .

Rootcanal believes he is more important than players on WVU
Not even knowing the full story or what is going on.

Just look at Stanford....
David Shaw pretty much told all his fifth year players they most likely wouldn't attend grad school at Stanford so it is best for them to transfer and look around.

Not because they weren't good enough or they didn't buy into the program.

But because 5th year seniors are still attending school. They have to play for the school who accepts them into their graduate programs.

It's the behavior that is driving me away from college sports. Its really not a good culture to be part of.

As a student being a fan was fun and felt special. It was just about enjoyment. That magic is gone. I really have no desire to be part of a circle of adults who just act ugly and entitled.

This thread is a perfect example. A young man graduates from college, and decides to continue his education and athletic career at a new school and the OP says screw him.

Let that sink in - a grown adult is angry that a young man he never has met is moving on in life. Its almost like these people dont understand what college is actually for.

This. Well said. Certain individuals like the original poster here trash these young men when it doesn’t fit their own agenda. Josh Sills made decision he thought was best for him and did so within the existing ncaa rules.
This is not indentured servitude or north Korea. wvu will be fine.
