this paragraph:

If somebody's asking for that kind of money, I don't have it," Rogers said in an interview Thursday with ESPN radio out of Dallas. "I just called somebody that either knew somebody who had it - pretty much all the alumni know each other because they're at every game - I just called somebody I was close to to see if he knew of anybody, or to let him know about it so he could tell somebody else what was going on."

1. At least Rogers looks like a damn crook here.
2. The issue I have with it is he makes it seem common place to contact folks at MSUwho have some cash to give to players. I hope this **** doesn't trickle down into the alumni base to see who has been giving handshakes to players.

Bell, now a Florida business owner, could not be reached for comment
on Thursday, but he told ESPN.com that Cecil Newton asked for money and
that he has been interviewed by the NCAA.

it just sucks to see that Rogers thought it was common place to start shopping around for some cash like it was the normal thing to do. hopefully it just comes back on him as being a dubmass.

was just part of the deal. I'm not sure how some of this stuff will ever go away, unless you just give the death penalty to everyone and end college sports. And how can the schools police all the boosters? I wish it would go away.............

Here's what I think was going on in Roger's mind.

As part of my job I am suppose to land big recruits for the agent who pays my salary. I've got my hooks on what could be the #1 draft pick. I'm about to land the deal and my boss is going to reward me for landing him a huge client.

Cecil enters: "Hey Stroker, I've decided that it's going to take 180k for us to go to MSU."

Stroker Ace: "Oh ****, boss only gave me a few thousand to wine and dine prospective clients. If I lose this deal he's going to be pissed.. Think Stroker, think. Who do you know at State that might be able to swing that kind of money? Ah, lets give ole Bill a call, he and I were homey's back in the day. Maybe he can point me towards someone who will pony it up."

The rest is, well, unfolding as we speak.

My opinion is Rodgers is new to the whole "steering" process and was in over his head once Cecil upped the ante from clothes and cars to an Albert Means type benefits package. He panicked because losing Cam might cost his job so he calls on some old friends to see if they can hep him land the deal. He obviously doesn't know any dirty boosters at State or he would have called them and not called some old teammate who turned him in.

If you travel today to some of our close friends stadiums and look at the players cars you still may be quite surprised. In the day the QB's drove corvette's now the auto of choice is the CAD E.........except for CAM he drives a Scooter. I believe that is because of the poster putting up his driving record......
