The New York Times reporter who called Melania Trump a “hooker” turns out to be Carl Bernstein’s son, Jacob. He was reprimanded for this comment by his bosses, but it looks like his job is safe. After all, it is not like he called Sandra Fluke a prostitute. Besides, his father may have planted the thought in his mind, what with all of his research into hookers in Eastern Europe. Just a few weeks ago, his father was hinting at hookers on Trump’s payroll in Moscow.

I don't know where you got this and it may be true, I'm not saying it isn't, but I don't know why people just paste a paragraph like this.. What is it? Where did it come from? Even in the crazy media world of today when "media sources" make stuff up you can't even post where you got this? "Op2 is God." There, now people have to believe I'm God. I don't think the standards can get lower if just stating X makes it true.

Also, re. Sandra Fluke, I think that's the one Limbaugh insulted and he didn't lose his job so I don't get that point.

'New York Times' reporter Jacob Bernstein tweeted an apology after a model outed him for calling Melania Trump a 'hooker.' USA TODAY NETWORK
"I want to take ownership of a mistake I made," Bernstein said in the first of four tweets. Bernstein, 38, is the son of legendary Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein and his second wife, the late journalist-turned-Hollywood filmmaker/screenwriter, Nora Ephron.

I watch Bernstein occasionally on CNN. He has gone off the rails. Woodward a much better reporter. Bernstein is an ideologue that isn't very bright. Like father like son.

How can you insult a girl who wants the working people to pay for her birth control? Why shouldn't she pay for it herself? By the way, Rush is self employed, he did lose some endorsements, mostly the birth control pharmacies but go a big payday from the paper bag industry.[cheers]

It's not the readers job to do a Google search. If someone copies and pastes what appears to be a news story it's their job to at minimum say where the story came from, if not also providing the link.

I don't know where you got this and it may be true. Do you have a link as proper copy/paste etiquette or is that your opinion?

I admit I don't have the foggiest idea who Jacob Bernstein is.....though I obviously know his father. Like so many veteran.....and getting older.....partisans, Carl B just seems to be getting angrier and angrier as he ages. He strikes me as a kind of a newer-age (though not on TV as much) equivalent to an aging Bob Novak

Meanwhile PATX, explain to me (once and for all) why you watch CNN. You obviously consider yourself more informed than anyone on the network.....if not downright smarter.....so what could you get from a network that can't conceivably do anything other than make you angrier than you were when you switched the channel ?? I mean, are you (and others like you) so shallow that new ammo to feed your hatred of the opposition is that important to you ??? For the record, the same question goes for Left-wingers around here who despise your side......I realize they watch FNN; I just can't figure out why.

Of course, it's just another example of how much the two extremes have in common; as I've said for years.....on identical subject matter......the only real difference is one side says YES when the other says NO, and one says RIGHT when the other says WRONG. Meanwhile, the two sides co-exist in this equivalent state of constant anger which can never be truly massaged. Speaking only for myself, I honestly can't figure out how any reasonable-thinking individual would willingly live like their life like this.....

I find it amazing that someone would think it illegitimate or absurd to try to understand both sides of an issue or an opinion. I watch CNN for the same reason I watch Fox, to hear opinions about the same topics from different perspectives. Obviously I am a conservative so I would tend to agree more with the fox analysts. It seems to me that it would be ignorant to do otherwise. I happen to also read some articles from both the New York Times and Washington Post for that same reason. It would seem to me that this would be an asset rather than a liability.

Admitting a mistake and owning up to it is being more of a standup person that Limbaugh and especially Trump will ever be.

Limbaugh and Trump? This has NOTHING to do with them....it's about the slimeball known as the Jacob Bernstein. And just to be very clear about these types of "apology's"......they aren't with a "****". You are more naive than I thought.

Since you brought it up and believe in "******" apology's......Limbaugh DID apologize to the person he called a slut.

I'd prefer people not do these things at all of course, but if you do and voluntarily admit it and own up to it and apologize then it says more about your character than somebody that never admits fault. It says less about your character than somebody that would never do it in the first place though.

I'm not sure why you're being so antagonistic all of a sudden.

It takes a big Lib to admit folks on the Right have a point. It takes a confident well centered Conservative to admit the Left makes some valid points. For example, me on the right, agree with the Left that we must take care of our environment, elderly, infirmed, or medically indigent. We just disagree over how best to do that.

Unfortunately, neither side has an honest ability to look past it's own philosophy which I'd argue is the source for Wisdom because nothing is ever "all right" or "all wrong" except pure Truth which is always correct by definition.

Finding out what is correct takes Wisdom, which requires evaluating all sides then eliminating that which is not correct and including that which is found to be correct. Truth is not relative.

You can't have that Wisdom unless you are at least willing to consider the other side to weigh it's arguments against your own. The problem with many on the Left today, is their refusal to even consider anything from the other side as viable. So wedded are they to their ideology, nothing else can compete with it even if it's proven incorrect.

I don't see that problem on the Right, they (we) do at least consider the Left's arguments, we're just usually able to use logic and facts to refute their claims.

The Left runs away from that type of debate, or they lie to make their case, or they simply shut down & try to destroy those who disagree with them.

Sad.
