If this is true, we may be down to 5 scholarship players on BB team. I feel for Rick Ray. If we win 10 games, the man needs a pay raise.

Ray needs to see a Voodoo Priestess in New Orleans and cut the head off of a live chicken

If true, Rick Ray needs to beg Mullen to lend him a big that played basketball in high school.

Seems like Justin Malone would work as a minimum. Unless, of course, Stans has it out for him too and is summoning more burial ground custodians . . .

6-5, 305 Justin Malone would simply not translate to any contribution. Raiding the football team to fill guard positions would have a chance of yielding results, but it's very unlikely that any college football team would have players with anything close to the right height/weight combination and skill set for the frontcourt in basketball.

What's that 6-6 DE we signed from Florida? Tall and lanky. He's a backup too. Only player I could see playing bball.

So Baxter Price, starting Center. Nice ring to it.

I guess Justin Malone can't be a guard like that pedestrian 6'5" guard Cameron Burns we had in the past. Sigh.

Did Rick piss on an Indian mound along the Natchez Trace after being hired? Damn, I feel sorry for the guy. Someone may want to make sure there's not a "peepin Stans" spraying grease on the hardwood before practices.***

There isn't anyone on the football team

that could step in and play meaningful minutes to make the basketball team better. Yes I realize there are some super athletes playing football, but those guys have been playing football and working to be in football shape for however long. Basketball shape and skill sets are completely different. Even the guys that are athletic enough wouldn't really be any better than Cunningham because they simply haven't been focusing on basketball in a while.

I'm not saying players can't play and be successful at both basketball and football. But those guys train for both year round. I'm sure we have some guys who could do that just fine, but we have zero football players who have been training for top level basketball at this point.

Baxter Price can't contribute at any position, and Cameron Burns, while the wrong size for his position, was a basketball player to begin with. Do you really think Justin Malone would be a favorable alternative to a tired Gavin Ware? My point is that while it would seem nice to have more bodies on the bench, if they're still worse than our scholarship players when they're worn out, there's no point in having them. Besides, a football player, even one who played in high school, couldn't step in and positively contribute immediately and probably not even this season, except maybe at the 2 position. Like most any sport, there's more to it than just being athletic.

I played bball and football with Malone in highschool..

and he was great PRIVATE school post player with a very good point gaurd to dish him the ball. Also he could barely dunk the ball. I love the guy but there is no way he could play college basketball.

Seriously, if a hit man had been hired and paid prior to our season...

to take out our players one at a time he probably could not have been more successful than what has transpired.

More like he dug up some Indian corpses and 17-ed them.

Stans must have left a voodoo doll behind some of the sheet rock during the construction of the Mize Pavillion, that silly hexing MFer.
