We're pretty bad at renting mules.

Of course, at OM I suspect the proper term is "Leased Mule" since leasing sounds much classier than "rented". </p>

I have to give props to Nutt and staff. They are pulling in an epic class in a year where we appeared to have all the momentum.

I know its only a dream scenario, but has a coach ever told his recruits to false commit to his rival only to have them sign with his school in Feb? This would leave the opposing school grabbing up backup-plan croots at the last minute. If any coach would try a scheme like this, I bet Mullen would. What would be the holes in a plan like this?

For nafoomers: Do not go back to your friends saying that we actually believe this is happening. The current recruiting raping just got me wondering if anyone had done it.

Fact is, none of us know who is paying and who is getting paid. I think we overestimate how much this happens. CJ is a great player from what I read, but in my opinion, it would be stupid to risk multiple years probation for a serviceable SEC LB. I'm sure some programs pay for program changers (Newton), but to act like every three or four star that signs with another team is on the take is rediculous.

But you need a Mod-dictated Nickname for your absurd optimism in basketball and your absolute certainty that OM only stole players from us because of cash. Post 'em if you've got suggestions sixpackers.

well with others. Dan is very straightforward maybe even borderline abrupt, he doesn't blow a bunch of smoke up the *** of recruits. He tells them it is going to be very hard work to earn a position to play for him and from what i am told he is serious. Some kids love this approach and sign up and never waiver. The attention *****'s and prima dona's that like to let their life be played out on facebook and message boardson the other hand are not impressed with this approach. They have gotbe coddled, lied to, *** kissed, and of course mama has got to get a heavy helping of the same. I do think the Nix brothers and the Reverend do exceed expectations in this area andDan has got to decide if he wants to play that game or not. It really is up to him, if he can continue to attract talented, high charcter players with his style that win 7-10 games a year then I don't look for him to modify his style much. If he starts to falter he may have to. I for one don't have much for the prima dona's.
