Football West Henderson vs Brevard

They still look pretty dang good, I just think think Pisgah is a.) better than they have been and b.) a bad matchup for West because of their style of play.
This game intrigues me because I think West is a more competitive matchup for Brevard than they've probably seen all year. Brevard's D has give up 739 rushing yards to Franklin, North and Smoky this year. West has just as good a rushing attack with a more balanced passing attack than all 3 of those teams. They also have the athletes to matchup better with Brevard's passing attack. This game might come down to who has the ball last and whether or not West can stop Brevard from scoring on special teams because that is honestly where Brevard has been able to separate themselves this year.
Don’t disagree with your analysis. Brevard has to stop the run better than they have been. West has a very balanced offense so Brevard has to defend better, no question.
I just don’t see West stopping Brevard’s offense. The two quarterback system works very well for how that offense goes and has worked well for the last two years. Although the passing game has really taken off this year, their offense is still predicated by the rushing attack. Only my opinion, I still feel this is the best offense in the mountains with the balance they have, coupled with the speed and athletes all over the field. It will take a really good defense to keep them under (30).
This should be a good game and I expect it to remain close throughout. I do feel that Brevard has the better offense to hit the “haymakers” and I feel that will be the difference in the end.
Brevard should win but if West can get McCraw going early they may be able to keep Brevard under pressure for a while. Brevard’s offense is the definitely the best in the mountains as far as having the potential to score at any moment.

It's time for Brevard to start putting complete games together and not having those lapses on defense.
I’ve seen West play twice. Brevard will have to turn the ball over multiple times and West will have to control the clock if they are going to make it a competitive game.

This Brevard team definitely has some of the highlevel talent that was seen in those late 90s-early 2000 Brevard teams. I don’t think they’re as physically dominant as last year’s group.
Pisgah matches up to scheme better with the group this year than the one last year. We’ll see how it shakes out.
You mention the Manny Deshateur years and those were the worst of the split conference years. It’s hard to believe but if playoffs were like they were in those days, the loser of the Brevard-
Pisgah game wouldn’t make the playoffs because at the time the two of us were the only 2A teams in the conference, so only the one with the best conference record got to advance, even if the other team was 2nd overall in conference.
We went to the house with a 8-2, 5-1 conference record and Brevard went to the playoffs 10-0, 6-0 in conference.
Playoffs are wee bit different now with who all gets in.

I have no idea how I did it but this post was supposed to go on the Mountain 8 thread where he actually did mention Deshateurs. I guess I got finger happy.

I couldn't really makeout on what happened to him on that play i seen him with crutches and ice on the knee early on after that play hopefully its just a stinger
Sounds like the game went about how I thought it would. Both teams are good ball teams. Hate to hear about the injuries, hopefully nothing serious.
