Another tough week and we're looking forward to a good game against a Rebels team that has two very good running backs we'll have to try and slow them down.

I believe they are both underclassmen. A lot of youth on this rebel team too. I foresee them being a force next year and taking 3rd in conf. 2nd will be Lincolnton cause they always reload after a down year. It's just Lincolnton, that's who they are. Might even take first.- talking bout Lincolnton. I'd imagine NC will not skip a beat next year as they will also return a lot unless some guys get in trouble or grades fall off the map etc
It's also not unusual to see any team full of sophmores and maybe a few freshmen these days. When we were in school, at least this was the case at East Burke, you NEVER saw a freshmen on varsity and only between 1 and 4 or 5 soph on team. These were usually big boys and not skill positions.

Looks like West has a young Thunder and Lightning backfield we'll be forced to tackle for two years at least. Lucky us!
Make it one year. They're juniors. But that's WL football for ya, they always have every year some guy or 2 that can run the ball. Usually a big guy that can eat up a few yards every carry and eat clock. Any defense can tune into that and limit that if they have big bodies up front and a decent LB core.
Ill get to see their backfield firsthand Friday night. Looking at the stats from last week, it seems they really gashed Maiden's defense.
Newton will hold their own against them. I mean come on ha ha East Burke beat these guys(WL) and EB didn't have an answer for West Iredell even though WI is improved and has a heck of a RB #5, they're not super stars and score coulda been worse between the two.
Every game is different and West L was prob at their worst when against EB. That's what I love about this conf. Top 4 teams can be any given Friday with Newton having the favor and musta been a sight to see WL gash out Maiden dispite the loss.
Thats a wide point spread but i would not be mad if we could win and by that much.
I didnt make our game last year out in vale but most likely it came down to penalties, turnovers and mistakes.
Both the offensive and defensive lines played TERRIBLE in last year's game. They are BOTH vastly improved this year.
Last year Newton threw a pick six early and West brought in a large yougin' to play fullback with the #55 on. He rumbled over the Red Devils. It took the Devils a while to wake up and once they did the Rebels had life. Came down to a field goal at the end. That's why you play the game. Anybody can win on any given night, in this conference, if the right conditions exist.
Our JV team is currently 3-0 in the conference. Can we go back to back as conference champs?
A very impressive defensive effort by them Red Devils holding West Lincoln under 200 yards of total offense tonight. The Rebels have two very tough and talented running backs so Im proud of our defense stepping up to the challenge and applying non-stop pressure tonight.
It’s all looking ripe for a Hibriten rematch. Gonna be tough to reach them and vice versa because both will be high seeds.
A rematch would be a huge crowd but we both have work yet to do before we can concentrate on plaoffs and seedingd.
