front 4 for WM controlled game vs MA....never could get to corner & Middle was non existent....must give same effort against WRH
There are two WM defenses
A. the one that starts sluggish and pretty much takes the first quarter off and
B. the one that is fired up and ready to go from the first play.
The first WM vs EM game the ready from play one D showed up. Last night not so much.
If WM can get past the awe factor of playing in Kenan AND come out ready on D I think WM has better chance to take it from WRH than people believe.

Going to be a great game. West will have to play four quarters and create some breaks. Wallace Rose Hill will be favored and deserves to be. But West is capable. Congrats to both teams. Two great programs and communities.
Dave I agree with your comment about the defense needing to show up early, however, we will not beat WRH by that large of a margin. WM by 3.
Im no football coach but these are 2 things that must happen for WM to keep this game interesting. Offense- clock management/keeping it fast pace! Defense- Set the edge!
Yeah, if you don't set the edge this week it will be a track meet. Warriors need to force WRH into passing situations to have a shot to win. Not that the WRH isn't capable, or that the Dogs don't have some dangerous wideouts, but if you don't slow down the run somehow, you have no shot against them

I don't see WRH beat WM by 17-20 points, that's ridiculous.. it'll be a touchdown at the most. If WRH falls behind early, WM will get their first championship.

45-21....get over it. You had two chances with the best team ever fielded there and couldn't get it done. Show some class and most of all professionalism.
This game obviously is favored toward WRH and it should. Lots of things have to go right for WM to pull of a HUGE upset. That being said, I have stated all year that this team is very focused and very close. They are playing good football right now. Mt. Airy was as good as Swain. Swain had a better running game and Mt. Airy had the better passing game. Best of luck next season and maybe we will meet again.

IMO NO, the WEST region overall was down this year. Sometimes its not how good you are , but how good the teams you play are. Im not taking away anything from any team 1-A or 1-AA, but the overall strength of the teams in the West seemed down compared to past years.
I will say our defense is better without a doubt, also we may be more balanced. We have several weapons on offense if you key on one there are others that will hurt you. Coach Eddins and staff have developed a program at west. Several said this would be a rebuilding year for us and we'd be down. Turns out we set a school record for wins and are playing for a championship. I will not count these guys out ever. They are resilient to say the least.
Better get your legs going, WRH plays no huddle, fast paced Wing-T and Gun-T, they are fast (as I am sure WM is) and strong. The Linebacker #3 is a beast and can stretch plays out of the back field and can make tackles sideline to sideline. WRH will be fast paced and likes to score as quickly as possible. Beating them means controlling the clock. If you can actively control the clock and get 3-4 yards a carry or more on every carry you can beat them. But your D will have to play better than any time this year to shut down the rushing attack for WRH.
It's always a tough task to dethrone the champ, so the Warriors have their work cutout for themselves this coming friday night....With that said, anything can happen, but the game will likely be won or lost in the trenches on both sides of the ball....Has West Montgomery faced many up-tempo type teams this season?....As mentioned by jeffFriday above, the Bulldogs are an up-tempo type team with speed which makes them difficult to defend, and they have the confidence of a two-time defending state champion which is also hard to overcome as they will likely be less nervous at the beginning than the Warrior players....The team that is able to get off to a quick start will likely be the team that hoist the trophy in the end IMO!

I have seen Wallace enough over the past 6 years to know that they aren't always up tempo however, they do move faster than most teams when it comes to calling offensive plays, they will move the ball up-tempo to get into a rhythm if they feel they are in a funk. But it is still something for teams to think about, it's one of Coach Price's mind games he plays with opposing staffs. Either way I hope it's a good game.
Coach price isn't one of the best coaches in the state inwould say he's the best in the state. Much more than a coach anyone that has played for him either at south Columbus or WRH will tell you he's not just your coach but more like a father. Man has chewed me out and then after practice put his arm around me and said let's go get something to eat. He's a Godly man that would give you the shirt off of his back I still can pick up the phone and call him day or night and he's still the same today as he was 11 years ago when I played for him. He's one of a kind!
I think we are blessed at West to have Eddins who is much the same according to what you just described. Coach Eddins is a great and Godly man who loves every player as if they were his own! I truly think that's the reason he's been so successful!
