This is never a good match up for us.

1. OU doesn't foul
2. OU is the #3 in the conference at hitting uncontested open shots
3. OU is a powerful offensive rebounding team.
4. Their Big can step behind the line and hit 3's.
5. Austin Reaves is the best pick and roll guard in the conference. The pick and roll is one thing WVU struggles to defend. OU is also tops at getting away with the moving screen.
6. OU doesn't turn the ball over. AVG 10.8 a game.

Stopping and or slowing down Reaves could be the key to this game. OU goes 9 deep.

Interesting facts, figures, and opinions, but they won't matter today: WVU 81, Oklahoma 70

Missing too many open shots, this team becomes average if they can’t hit free throws and step in threes

This was a tough one. Make a couple of free throws and we win. No need to hang their heads...Hard fought game and Huggs has time to make it a learning situation. Watch out texas.

WVU missed 11 free throws. Oklahoma missed NO free throws.

Still proud of this team, which can beat ANY team in America in March Madness!

Culver was awesome. So was McNeil, in the 2nd half. Even McBride, way off his game, had 19 points.

This team gets into their opponents' heads with the relentless non-stop suffocating play.

Have to stop straight-line drives to the basket, though.

On to Texas! Longhorns not looking forward to this game.

I love this team, its attitude , its work ethic and, of course, Huggins' leadership!

Technically should have lost this game in regulation. But hard fought come back good effort.

11-21 FT is not going to win many games.

This a contradiction.

But Texas plays 3 games this week and WVU 1.
That is the advantage. But only if Huggins can figure something out on the defensive end. Huggins tried everything last game. Texas has 3 guards who will attack.
Straight to the basket.

Every team in the Big 12 uses 3 guards. Texas has sucked the last several games. They're lucky to have 7 wins. But like they say sometimes you need luck to play a roll.

The way they attack at your defense.

The question is on defense. You know Shaka always find a way to clamp down defensively.

Their defense has slipped.

But they easily could have beaten OU and Oklahoma State.

There is only one loss questionable for them and it is Baylor.

WVU is sitting in the same boat pretty much.

TrollVanZandt continues to masquerade as a Texas fan and expert, but doesn't know a longhorn from a grapefruit. Google has ruined the World.

WVU lost to #1 Gonzaga by 5 points.

WVU lost to Kansas by 14 points and later beat Kansas by 12 points.

WVU lost to #12 Oklahoma by 4 points and then by 1 point in DOUBLE OVERTIME.

WVU lost to #13 Texas by 2 points. WVU meets the Longhorns again at 3 p.m. Saturday for a chance to avenge that loss. As someone else pointed out wisely it will be the 3rd game of the week for Texas and the 1st for WVU so fatigue factor might help WVU.

WVU lost to Florida by 5 points.

That’s 6 losses by a combined total of 30 points (average of 5 points per game, with Kansas the ONLY team to beat WVU by more than 5 points).

Against the top 13 teams in the country WVU lost by a combined 13 points (average of 3.25 points per game).

The Mountaineers are ranked #14 nationally.

So why all the bitching?

If you’re not CEO of your multi-million dollar corporation you’re a failure? Hardly. If you don't have $1 million in your stock portfolio are you a failure? Hardly.

Is this WVU team a failure? Hardly.

I’ve enjoyed this Huggins Heroes collection better than I have for several seasons. Huggins says “We’re not afraid to play anybody, anytime, anywhere.” His players reflect that attitude. Once Oscar left the team, everything improved. Oscar, as talented as he was, was a poison to the chemistry of this team.

Did the flurry of straight-drives for layups disturb me? Of course. Did missing 10 free throws cause my Pacemaker to go crazy? Of course.

But it was awesome to see Culver own the similar-sized guy guarding him.

It was thrilling to see McNeil popping in 3’s like a child gobbling M&Ms in the 2nd half.

McBride didn’t have his best game, and still scored 19 points!

What the hell is there to complain about this team? It’s a bad reflection on those who do. Maybe they should switch to becoming Iowa State fans who haven’t beaten a Big 12 team all season.

I think Huggins’ team is capable of beating ANY team in America!

Come March Madness it would not astound me if it won the national title! It would make my Pacemaker go crazy if they do and I’d have a smile on face when I join my late wife in Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Enjoy the games! Savor the victories! Feel bad for the players and Huggins when they lose!

This is a team to be cherished for the ages!

Sermon over. Go back to your back-stabbing, nitpicking, finger-pointing.

Just realize it’s a reflection of YOUR failure, not WVU’s. I LOVE this team!

When the final horn sounds I can’t wait for the next game!

We will see.

How much of a rim protector is Culver and can they find other players to take away space

They want to open up the floor on teams.

Huggins needs more guys who can do both.
Play at the rim but also cover space.

More that there is a missing piece or two.
The guards have become better defensively. But still need length

Have to play some type of zone. This is where length comes into play

Shaka is an overrated coach that has done less with more than any coach in Texas history.

Whoa, that's a big statement, Allen. As for Texas basketball coaches, I'd have to agree with you. However, the last two Texas football coaches have been terrible underachievers. Texas football has been a dumpster fire ever since Mack Brown left.

We have no rim protector. Haven't had one since Konate. We have players that can come from the side and behind to block shots if you don't pay attention.

OU played the guards and didn't worry about Culver. They figured let Culver do his thing and we will guard the line. Giving up 2 is better than giving up 3.
