It is nice that he has four years of eligibility. Of course in today's climate, that probably means he will play for WVU and three other schools.
There is going to have to be a retraining at the coaching level to figure out how to match talent and ability for 1 year players. Will also need training in scouting the portal. It's going to take a special kind of coach to deal with things now. Possibly will even change the way head coaches and assistants are searched for.
Other thing is if players from the portal want to be like this then teams need the right to boot them if they under performed.
