He's solid and a well grounded student/athlete.
It was finally good to get to watch some contact at this morning's practice. Pads popping and tempers flaring are a good sign of competitiveness.

Reagan has had a lot of rain this week. So we'll be on their practice field and not their game field. If you're coming...bring a lawn chair.
Some observations found out Reagan has 2,200 students their varsity squad turnout numbers are probably 60 to 70 kids. Hard to call a scrimmage more like a joint practice against each other. Both sides are pretty vanilla play calling. Ultimately Reagan was to deep and talented for a 4a school. Maiden made some offensive plays and Wingate got a rushing TD. Defense was actually not bad against Reagan gave up a few big plays. JV was actually pretty impressive it ended in a 1-1 tie. But JV moved the ball pretty consistent and defensively made plays against them consistently.
You'll be fine if you can slow the game down and stop the pass. We stuffed their run game. Their screen game is mid-season form already. Dline is legit and have speed to close gaps but we had success outside the tackles. Their LB #10 is a serious gameplan problem. DBs are their weakness.
QB is a NCState commit and looks it. Pretty long ball and puts it in a good spot everytime. Oline is big and protects well...receivers are good catchers.
When that one running back was the long hair gets the ball I will say he runs with some anger lol.
Don't know if any Lincolnton people are around but I heard the Lincolnton freedom scrimmage was ended early due to arguing / fighting
Have the updated Max Preps 4A rankings been discussed anywhere? What a dramatic change from the previous rankings. Reidsville now #1, with double the point total of Burns, now the #2 team. Reidsville is now what I would call a prohibitive favorite. Maiden falls from #3 to #6, Bunker Hill moves all the way up from #11 to #3, and Bandys moves up from #14 to #11. These are significant, and somewhat shocking changes from the previous (original) 2025 pre-season rankings. All of this before even the first snap of the ball for scrimmages. Explanations anyone?

Some weird changes....what surprised me most was the BH move...lost a ton to graduation...yet they still get love. I would understand if they were a perennial power but they are far from that.

I went back and looked at what I posted last year for preseason Max Preps rankings. I also added a comment about how surprised I was at how many changes had occurred before the first game. Who knows?…it’s Max Preps.
Maiden actually moved up from 100 to 84 in the state wide ranking. So…these other teams who moved ahead made huge jumps in the NC rankings.
There is a significant gap between Reidsville and Burns…there’s a larger one between East Duplin and Pisgah.
Just saying!…it’s Max Preps…and no one knows!
The fact they have bunker hill at #3 shows it's a joke. A good season for them this year will be middle of the pack in conference but probably 6 or 7th place in conference
I wouldn’t go that far. The Bears have been really good the last 5 years. Look at Reno’s post on their record. I agree that Top 3 is too high…same goes for Maiden in my opinion …but the Bears should be top 10 to start. There’s a good coach and staff over there too!

Maiden scrimmaging at Watauga tomorrow night. We'll see shorter periods of action versus North Surry, Ashe County, and South Point, then game situation versus Watauga. 6pm start. Varsity only.
The way the weather has been lately I’m hoping no rain will not dampen the scrimmages tomorrow

2A Starmount was very competitive against 4A teams of Bunker Hill, Hibriten, West Stokes, and Montgomery Central.
Bunker Hill is getting a lot of love that I don't really think they should be getting this year I have a feeling some of those people are going to be disappointed. Feel like Hive right and will be a good team this year. Heard a lotta love for West Stokes this year I do wonder if losing that big lineman will affect them any but heard they have plenty more
West Stokes didn't look too good to me. Bunker Hill was better than I thought they'd be.
When in game situation, both offenses drove down and scored. Ours was a 14 play drive. After that we put our 2s in.
We also scored on South Point on a 40yd rush. We drove to 10 twice but pulled the ball back to 35yd to run pass plays where we needed more room.
Ashe...I don't know what they were doing. We'd beat them by 50 in a game.
We didn't face North Surry.
It's hard to explain our scrimmages because we don't do like other jamborees where the play a preseason game. We tend to script and plug and play players to see how they look. Maiden doesn't really open up the playbook. South point scrimmage I believe was a lotta back up players for us. Because why get our starters chopped block for a scrimmage.
I thought North Surry looked good. They held their own against Watauga and South Point. The Greyhounds have a good looking team…balanced on offense and defense, Coaches very vocal and engaged, scrappy and very physical bunch with a ton of players. I was impressed! They might just give their conference a fit!
