Foard at Bunker Hill: For the Bears things have been tough. I feel bad for them. I know they don't want my sympathy, but I know how it feels. Foard by 12.
Newton-Conover at
West Iredell: This has the potential of a good game. Just don't know, but I'd heard the Red Devils could be minus a key player due to injury, so I'll take West Iredell by 10.
Maiden at Bandys: Two long respected rivals square off. If anyone wants to see what I'm guessing will be a great game, I'll quote the famous Mormon leader, Brigham Young, when he saw the Salt Lake Valley, from the Wasatch Mountains, he said, "This is the place." Blue Devils by 13.
Lincolnton at Stuart W. Cramer: Lincolnton has played the Storm 3 times, beginning in 2017 and ending in 2019, we lost each game by scores of 40-7, 44-6, and 10-7... I look forward to seeing us play them, once more. Maybe this time we can come through. I'm like Creek, though. They match us against us well. We have to play hard, again... For three quarters they stayed with Shelby and Burns before both appeared to wear them down, some. If they can do that against those two, they can do it against us, and I'm concerned that this might be the game in which they play an entire 4 quarters...I cautiously pick the Wolves by 10. Play hard !
Hickory at East Lincoln: Well, here it is, Flyrod's Game Of The Week, and it's a big one. The eyes of every good 5A team in the state will be turning towards eastern Lincoln County. I know they're both really good teams and are high scoring machines. Really don't know how this might come out. Going to take the Red Tornadoes by 7, for old times sake, for friends and family there, living and not.
Hats off to Coach Lubowicz and Coach Glass, for their success and leadership; two champions, as they have already proven.

-Postscript: Tomorrow will be game 9 in the football season. How fast it goes by. It's as though you want to grab it and hold onto it, but it slips away. Well, let us look forward to the playoffs. Got a feeling this year’s matchups are going to be some grand finale.
-Side Note: friends, If you don't mind, I would like to comment on something I saw, yesterday, on the internet that kind of stunned me. It was an article about the migration of armadillos into North Carolina, and confirmed sightings in certain North Carolina counties. Would you like to know what one of those counties is ? Yes, it's Lincoln... How in the world did these things get here, to Lincolnton ? Is this not some wild, exotic creature. I'm thinking this is an anteater. To me that's as odd as a blue jay messing around in Qatar. Can you pet them or feed them ? Maybe they'll stay in the woods.
-Side Note: I took a photo of the site where the new Target store is going to be. It is scheduled to open sometime in 2026. If you tap the photo or use the fingers to widen it you can see the work going on. The photo was snapped from a hill that I was standing on, in the parking lot of another big store that I'm not going to say the name of, which you already know what it is. I know people there and not sure if they would appreciate my quips.
