Western Harnett will be seeking a new head coach this offseason as Blake Culbertson has stepped down. I'm not sure who they'll hire but I have been in touch with the Harnett Co. superintendent and I know that they want to make the best hire possible.
I'm not really sure about who the current assistants are at the school now and if any will pursue the position but I'm sure that some local assistant coaches may take a look. I would look at the staff at Union Pines with Lonnie Cox's departure, particularly offensive coordinator Ryan Giggey. I would also look very hard at Triton assistant coach David Weathersby who's been the head coach at Bunn and Bartlett Yancey. Weathersby was on the Western Harnett staff under Larry Brock and Jason Furrie.
