Hibriten wins easy, This hasn't been a game or a match up from what i can recall, since 2013. These 2 met in the playoffs. 40 sounds bout right

Battle of the Cavs, definetly not going to the Icard type. 35 is bout right

Chase in a close one prob by 14

RS runs wild. Really not much to talk bout this week in this conference. All the attention tends to lean to Hickory area conference.

Beamer is right, no competitive game at all. Guess to keep this thread somewhat going we could talk bout what teams may be on the rise and teams that may be dropping in stock in the next year or so, Pretty much expect Hibriten and ER to be the new rivals, as long as this conference holds up. RS and EB will be battling for 3rd. Not this year but maybe years to come. Good QB for EB next 3 years, kid is pretty solid and grows in performance and moves, if he gets anything around him it could be pretty competitive for 3rd place but this one can and will belong to Hibriten and ER. Draughn is a mystery. Sure they been getting slapped and no wear near even halfway close to 2022 calibure but they are loaded with super young kids. Will depend on how much they train and want it. Could compete for 4th next year. Thats kinda my forcast.

The Hilltoppers have 5 sophomore starters on varsity this year at key positions. Well, they only have three now that that the QB broke his leg and the RB went down with a knee. The JV team definitely would look quite a bit different with those guys on it. The future is extremely bright at RS Central!

The Rutherford County schools should be okay. Next year I look for Chase to be a lot more competitive due to playing a lot of young guys this year. RS has a lot of potential to become a threat, good size returning again next year… East ??… they will lose a lot of the skilled players this year, but I sure believe the ones waiting have that “Next Up” mentality. I think the speed gets a lot more noticeable next year .. The QB will become a dual threat with more designed runs and the awaiting HB (Pinkertons replacement) has shown he’s ready just waiting his turn. The young bunch at East is more than promising. The Rutherford County schools should be okay, nothing outstanding but will be more competitive next year. But East should still be the team to beat. A lot of the East guys have got valuable time on Varsity so the transition will not be shocking, it will be which staff gets the work done in the weight room.

Sounds good. Rutherford Co always had athletes here and there. Might not be Clevland Co but hey, they use what they got. EB hadn't been hitting on much in athletes for a good while. 2 rare legends graduated 2 years ago from EB that currently compete in Division 1 track so our tank is kinda dry lol. Be neat to see a big time RS Central turn some things around. Chase has been so so over the years and down some too.

I figure Hibriten and the 3 Rutherford county schools will be at the top of the food chain next 3 years. Can't see Patton, Draughn or West Caldwell competing at the top based on numbers and jv production.

EB could be in the mix for 3rd/4th finishes, it'll depend on what they get around this QB and/or the QB improves more along the way. As far as Draughn goes, I hope they dont have the Cherokee effect- low for years on end, solid one time class of fellas then down for years on end again. North Gaston did that once also.

Since we don't have a forum for sports other than football, I'm going to put this here. Saturday Draughn hosts Union Academy in a volleyball playoff match, I think it starts at 5 pm. The winner advances to the regional final at either N. Wilkes or Pine Lake Prep.
This is a part of why I like the new format. More teams are moving forward in the playoffs which creates some excitement in the community. If Draughn could make it through to a state title match, the people over there in Valdese would probably show up in big numbers to support them and there will likely be hundreds in the gym Saturday evening.
The achievements of these teams mean a lot to smaller communities. I know there are signs celebrating Hibriten's football state champs up when you get to Lenoir and it's the same in Morganton with Freedom basketball. The people over in Valdese would love to be able to celebrate a team of their own, and the new format gives them the chance to do so.

Speaking of, I guess I will use these football forums for men and women's basketball this season

Finals
Hibriten 62 Patton 0
East Rutherford 53 East Burke 24
RS Central 36 West Caldwell 22
Chase 62 Draughn 0
The look and perspective from ole Burke man

Expected that from Hibriten. I hope you had something better to do or better game to go to ha ha

It’s good at least East Burke scored alittle. Was it after ER let off the gas? IDK I wasn’t there.

Thats TOO close to comfort for RS. Did RS take the starters out after 36 and let em creep up to 22? Just curious. Could be the injury thing too.

Ok….ok….what .. in the WORLD happen to Draughn??? I mean did they come out there not caring at all? I know Chase is not that good, but expected them to win yes but not like that. Ehhh good thing the volleyball team is doing good
