Hibriten and East Burke should roll. Maybe Patton can give Chase a game but doubt it.
ER might roll as well but this game has most possibility to be close.
With a win ER wins conference outright.

ER vs RS.. I hope the hype leaking from the palace is on point. They wanting a 1/3 of the conference championship and to be labeled Rutherford County top team. Only one problem? I think Coach sent out a few questions about ER and the guys at ER are going to bring the answers Friday.

1/3 ain’t what ER is playing for. County Championship?… Nah, I think some of the guys are in the “FAFO” mindset.

Simmons won’t give enough… whatever they say plus 8 East.. 50 plus RS 14-16…

The question is will East get a first round bye or not ??… sitting at 9 now means will be playing week one playoffs.. I’m sure things will change again, maybe several more times .. but it’s getting to be my favorite time of year AFTER (week 1)… matchups will be GOOD !!

Look for Patton to give Chase a game !!.. wouldn’t be a surprise to me if Patton keeps it close.

East Rutherford offense should scare a lot of 3A teams but their defense could give them an early exit

I saw a lot of starters standing on the sidelines for the Hilltoppers against West Caldwell, so don't let that score scare anybody. They were resting people and getting healthy.

I just don’t understand ? I’m sure the kids wanted to play, surely there’s not that many injuries on RS sidelines. A couple were even dressed out that didn’t play. Hopefully everyone is healthy Friday night. I’m sure the county rivalry will help heal some, till the point differential starts hurting. Best I remember (East is a bunch of undisciplined thugs, no leadership, whose coach is I can’t remember exact phrase “maybe an idiot.” ) according to the Palace staff. So there’s a little extra motivation to shorten the game (running clock) by halftime my prediction.

I think East will roll simply due to the injuries of RS. If both teams are healthy it would have been a good game. East can win this week and next possibly depending on draw, then they can get ready for basketball season. Can score, but can't stop anything. East will enjoy this season because things get different in the years to come, yes they will have some athletes like always but the discipline and size up front will hinder them. Wouldn't be surprised if Head Coach starts looking for other jobs after this year. Just an observation, so if it gets people upset then it is probably true.

I agree that the defense will need to step up to advance deeper into the playoffs. Last week’s performance was a stark contrast to the championship-like intensity displayed by one team, while East played half-heartedly in the first half. This needs to change immediately if they want to be considered contenders.
East has a strong and promising group of upcoming players. I don’t believe there will be any drop-off in their offense. Coach has been gradually revealing his hand each week, showing glimpses of his true potential. Playoff preparation is underway, with one final stop at the Palace before they showcase their true abilities.

The seniors on the team have been a joy to watch as they have matured over the past couple of years.

Oh, and I just spoke to Coach, he expressed no interest in LSU or PSU, only Alabama. So, he will be staying with the team. Why leave? The staff, community support, and administration are all great. He might be like the old baseball coach and decide to lock in.

ER seemed to just go through the motions after the Hibriten game except for chase game. It's hard to get pumped up to play a school you know you'll have a running clock against. They also seemed to try and throw it around which I think is smart to save 21 for the playoffs.

Nothing like living rent free in RS heads…. Next time you see OL’ coach asked him to show you his state championship rings . I know he has one as a player and one as a coach. Don’t think anyone other than the East baseball coach can match that. I know because they were teammates when the elder baseball guru taught those guys how to win, nobody likes a winner. I get it, maybe next year ??… or maybe several years before any viable competition shows up In-County. East will just reload after they finish this season. The message boards (FINALLY !) coming to life .. This was what it was like 15-20 years ago when I enjoyed them the most. Finally !!… somebody to rile.. coming from out of county I miss all the local banter . Got a call from Hutchins Grill ?.. never heard of it, guy wanted prediction… I said take East !!… give them the 12 points they wanted and enjoy your hotdogs next week…. LOL

Been an ok year for EB all things considering. Any and all posters of EB have drifted away, I hadnt seen any. Not sure what their future holds overall tallent wise but prob not too good considering the speed they have this year what little there is, will be graduating. Many from this years JV team came out of middle school with only a 1 loss season. Not bad for a school thats not used to winning. QB play has shown alot of promise. They get anything around him and EB should contend for 3rd in this conference for the next 3 years.

That Hibriten game, could they have hit a 100 points in that one if they wanted to and pushed for it?

Looking at their roster and their maxpreps stats East Burke actually returns all of their leading WR but loses their RB.


How good or how fast they are, I couldnt tell you.

For you folks in the know, is Chase a pretty good 5-5 team? Or are Patton and Draughn that bad that Chase outscored them 118-0 the past two weeks? Simmons has them coming to Thomasville next week, and just curious.

Chase is ok they try and sling it around and have a pretty fast RB . Patton and Draughn are that bad.

Yeah when they built Patton and Draughn of course 1st thought is oh they breaking up the schools blah blah blah and tallent lower overall. I never seemed to think so. For Freedom, the tallent pool usually and most of the time sat in the Table rock middle area so them dropping student body to fall to 3A(when they were) that helped them out. For EB the tallent use to sat from Rutherford College to Drexel or most of it. Strangly the tables turned. Me personally Im glad they built Draughn. I never complained. Gives more kids playing time and both schools I thought was bottle necked up, being the reason they always build expainsion schools. Like in Charlotte, they built what...3 or 4 schools to take kids out of South Meck and 2 or 3 to take kids out of North Meck. But Charlottes blew up and Lake Norman area. Up this way its been bout the same lol.

Not sure why Patton and Draughn have got that bad. Kids not coming out, less tallent coming through the middle schools, I'm not real sure. Draughn just had that super good class of guys 3 years ago. I figured when they had that success it'd be short lived but I sure didnt wanna believe it. But like I've said before, Draughn is REALLY young. Look at roster on maxpreps, they got maybe 5 seniors or 6. 7 to 9 freshman. Will that translate to wins next year with experience and building, I'm not sure. Hope so. Good grief back in my day you had to be super good super special to be a freshman on varsity lol. Was rare to even see a soph.

Chase is fairly young team. More seniors than Draughn though.

Just to set the record straight. East didn’t walk off the field. The refs were so bad that they threw all of our coaches out of the game. We always seem to have the officiating against us but it was obvious that game.

You talking about Brevard last year ?? Because East did walk off the field carrying the 3peat county trophy last night. I watched a coach from RS get physically removed for assaulting the white hat Thursday night That was a first, notice I didn’t mention it here yesterday to try and keep emotions from erupting during the Varsity game.

However RS coach made a lot of comments on a radio clip that was asinine. He talked about integrity , leading by example, teaching the game of football and “HATRED”. Last night Coach u proved all your points, you looked like a cheerleader mocking the East sideline, you have a good football team, just leadership is lacking. It’s sad when you on the field congratulating the kids, and hear an assistant coach say “Yeah, he’s diffently an a@@.” Their words not anyones from East but some of us agree. To the RS TEAM .. good game, great athletes , lot of emotion !!… I just hate your leadership “Hatred” for ours is so visible. Maybe time to head back NORTH !!… Coach maybe the South is more than you can handle. Or maybe back to Middle School ??.. come ON !!.. that was terrible, actually looked worse than what happened Thursday night. Both incidents should be reviewed by County Admin…
