We are currently getting as many people to register as possible. Ive been carrying around registration cards with me and asking nearly everyone. I am confident that it will pass. The last vote was 1999 and it got voted down like 2100-900 or something along those lines. We need a lot more people than that to show up and vote or I feel we are in trouble.

What's the makeup of your county like? I know here in Mercer County that we have several families that bought up a bunch of prime real estate years ago, and that has kept business from coming it like other places. Kroger wanted to build a new store at a different location, but when they saw what the property owners were wanting in exchange they said screw it. Knowing that is how this county has always worked makes me wonder how much us being wet now will really benefit the city/county. Can't build stores if people want unreasonable prices for the property to build, ya know.

luckily we got most of their names on the list. The mayor is publicly against it.

But would those names be willing to sell pieces of their property to business's wanting to build liquor stores, grocery stores, restaurants at fair market value? That has been our problem, the people that own land around here think they are setting on gold, and the business's aren't willing to pay the price. See what I'm getting at?

Many old buildings[/B]/houses sitting on main st.

Perfect spot for a great bar or restaurant with a bar if the ordinance gets passed. Someone could really grab some coin if they were ready with a smart business plan and a great location when it's passed.
