I like how is smiling in his profile pick. Hes not trying to be all "hard". Might be a good kid, good worker, wants to get better.

That is great news that we have a shot, but how could anyone turn down a free ride to such a prestigious institution?
I am saying this with having two degrees from MSU. If he can qualify there, wow!

What recruiting world do you live in??? This happens all the time. These prospects don't care about academics. They'll all major in Interdisciplinary Studies anyway.

He's also supposedly got family in Starkville who want him to go to MSU.

....prestige is overrated. The individual matters a lot more than the school the individual went to.

the "prestigious" Stanford degree opens doors that the MSU degree may not - at least outside the south.

I work at a college and can tell you without a doubt the school you go to matters, at least for that first job, opening that first door.
I just think that is the one time parents should get involved in the recruiting process.

Get a high undergraduate GPA at State, then take your pick of graduate schools to beef up the resume.

His wife has her undergrad from Harvard and Phd from Yale. One teaches at Michigan and the other at Michigan State. I don't think the undergrad hurt him too much.

Mullen has pulled some late surprises before, with Perkins/Heavens, then a couple of OL late last year, but this guy hasn't even set up a visit.
