we've nearly hit into 40 double plays through 22 games.

They're too scared to take any serious hacks. Whether they need to be "coached up", or grow a pair, I don't know. They're too scared to swing hard. Because of that, they hit ground balls that wound up in double plays.
Maybe we need to let them go up and take three wild hacks per at-bat. One out per batter is much better than two.

that a lot of it is because we play station to station all the time. Plus, if a pitcher knows the runner isn't going, it's going to allow him to relax and come after the hitter. So, our hitters are having to try to hit tougher pitches.

no one on base, the next hitter might as well swing for the fence. The inning's basically screwed anyway. What's the worst that could happen?....Aside from LT having to buy some new baseballs, of course.
if we get two quick outs to start an inning, he wants the 3rd guy to go up and stall as much as possible to give the pitcher some rest.
