who said, "I can't imagine anyone not posting on GP saying that about the Egg Bowl.." I found someone, and it wasn't on Gene's Page.

count me in so that makes 2. Like I said, if I had to choose today, I pick State. And I really don't see that changing.

are also predicting a W against Alabama. Forgive me if I don't find you the most credible prognosticator.

...we have the exact same conference record. I guess beating mighty NAU, Memphis, SELA, and UAB means they are head and shoulders above us.

We're excited. Our team is better than last year. We've grown wool.

Thanks for trying to shear us and all, but Bama may do a fine job of that themselves. Then again, half of us may be right and then we'll be even more excited because we'll think we predicted one of the biggest upsets in MSU history. So really, go enjoy your half empty stadium. Or your half empty grove. Either way.

Sure, there is doubt in my mind. But 17 that. Doubt and expecting to lose was for the Croom era. Hope and believing we can win is the new fad, and I'm buying into it. We may get crushed, but it's not like losing to Bama will destroy the soul of the MSU fanbase. We're pretty much immune to those kind of defeats now.

the Grove is a lot nice than what y'all have to offer. Tailgating in Starkville is nice and a lot of fun, but you don't hear national commentators and publications espousing the virtues of it. Is there really a debate about this point?

of the Grove. I know in pregame intros before our game, especially the Florida game, the announcers raved about the Junction. The Junction is only 4 years old.

Plus, we welcome black people tailgating. Advantage: MSU

Auburn is not even on the same planet as Bama, and I think most of you would agree. Secondly, we were coming off of a W, and it seemed that our QB may have finally pulled his head out of his ***. Turns out that was not the case. Lastly, nobody on NAFOOM has to my knowledge called the Egg Bowl a W for us.

As for my preseason prediction, I called for 9 wins, though I'm not sure I ever posted a prediction either here or on NAFOOM. And just so we're clear, I think we both lose this weekend.

I'm saying at this point, that like you, I think the game could go either way. I'm not saying, "State will get slapped around" or some variation of Flabloser's view of the game. That's the difference. Predicting a W is much different from saying, "I don't know."

MSU will win. Not because its in Starkville. But because we're better than you.

Mississippi is getting its *** beat. Period.

Who gives a ****. State has been in the 4th quarter in all but 1 game this year. And we're beating your *** Nov 28. Remember that.

I'm also predicting an upset of Bama. I may be wrong. But we won't get blown out if we lose. If we lose, it will be like we lost to LSU or Florida - a close game shot down by one of our own stupid mistakes or the referee.

I think it was in 2006 when OM lost to Georgia, Bama, LSU and Auburn by a combined total of 17 points. I thought that was a completely ****** year.

Ok, you got me. I was wrong. I guess if I predicted a close win over Bama this weekend on a last second field goal in your mind it would be equivalent to me saying we would win 50-0. I'll try to bear that in mind.

It isn't close scores that excite the MSU fanbase, we had some of those under Croom. It is the fact that every single week this team shows up to play, fight the opponent tooth and nail for 60 minutes, is well prepared, and matches up against superior and more experienced talent. That has MSU fans optimistic. We lost in a relatively close game at LSU last year, but we never were really a threat to win that game. We legitimately threatened Florida and we should have beaten LSU without question. What we have done this year with our roster and with our schedule has been ridiculous. Please do not compare it to OM 2006.

we are having an outstanding year. Most people are saying there is excitement in the program again. Kind of like how Ole Miss had 42 committs and 350 offers out with Orgeron as HC in 2006. Time will tell if Mullen is more successful.
