What’s your wool level?

If I'm honest, this is where it all died with me. Our (football) fanbase exposed itself, badly, during the Leach Era and since then. I have a hard time believing we'll ever succeed - I mean we just have no clue.
For whatever reason I do still enjoy following.
It's too hot to be wooly. Especially for that game.
I doubt if I could name five players if I really focused on it. Wool factor non existent.
That's fine but can they help us beat our non conference teams and upig and maybe another middle of the pack SEC team....beating TX and GA is a tall task even if you are hitting on all cylinders.....remind me when that was?
A lot of you all are going to be surprised by this team this year. In a good way.
I hope that you are right but even if you are, it’s hard for me to feel pretty much anything since any good players that we roll out this year will be gone next year. I absolutely hate today’s version of College football. When I was a kid I could name almost every player on the team, tell you what class they were along with their height, weight, etc. currently, I know the name of exactly 2 players on the whole team. Zero wool, zero give a flip.

This idea we can’t pay won’t pay or poor needs to stop. We have lost 1 player we wanted to keep 1… and we had the better offer but his GF was expecting and he wanted to get closer to home. Y’all act like we have lost star players year after year. We have retained the majority of who we wanted too.
Did you hear the latest? Toledo is joining the Sunbelt and we signed a 5 year deal! But Toledo didn't want us to think that it's only a paycheck so they have agreed to only play their 2nd sting against us to make it fair. **
Regardless, I still hate the whole current model. The term student athlete no longer applies. The words we and us no longer applies. It’s just they and them now. Annual shakedown for more money. The word commitment means nothing. The vast majority of players are nothing more than temporary employees. I hate it all. However, to each his own and if you still enjoy it, more power to ya. I keep hanging around hoping things will change but I’m not optimistic. I have had a season ticket in my possession every year since 1961, that’s 64 consecutive years, but not this year. We are out.
No offense but things change no matter what era. We as fans have to stop this I hate everything about the current state of college football. Those programs that are excelling don’t share your views. Thank God we have leadership that embraces the current system of college athletics and don’t share your archaic beliefs.
With all due respect, I believe that you have lost some perspective. College football, regardless of the version, is a form of entertainment for the fans. It is not a world changing event of some sort. It is a bunch of teenagers running around playing football. The world would move forward without it. I appreciate your passion because I used to be that way too. However, there are thousands of people all over the country that share my “archaic” views. I’m not the only one sick of today’s system. I’m glad that you still enjoy it, but my enthusiasm is a small portion of what it used to be. To each his own.
