We have to give the Dems on thing......they have fooled a lot of people for a lot of years.

The Civil Rights Act -- which is best known for barring discrimination in public accommodations -- passed the House on Feb. 10, 1964 by a margin of 290-130. When broken down by party, 61 percent of Democratic lawmakers voted for the bill (152 yeas and 96 nays), and a full 80 percent of the Republican caucus supported it (138 yeas and 34 nays).

When the Senate passed the measure on June 19, 1964, -- nine days after supporters mustered enough votes to end the longest filibuster in Senate history -- the margin was 73-27. Better than two-thirds of Senate Democrats supported the measure on final passage (46 yeas, 21 nays), but an even stronger 82 percent of Republicans supported it (27 yeas, 6 nays).

I'm not saying this to be mean, but if it bothers you that African Americans stand up for their rights and stand up against racism, then you have a serious problem.

I have experienced reverse discrimination. Did I let it bother me? No. I moved on and did what I needed to do and was still successful.

With all due respect countryroads89, you have no credibility with me at least discussing how you are such a champion for Blacks "standing up" for their rights to avoid being mistreated by racists.

Zero

Anyone on this board who follows your outrageously insensitive, bigoted, ignorant, uninformed, and yes even racist remarks that you spew out of your racially intolerant and hateful thought process on a daily basis knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

You just need to back off talking about how you so respect Black people and our struggle for racial acceptance. You're as credible as Bernie Madoff.

It is more what he didn't say for a long period that bothered me. He refused to denounce the KKK and racist nonsense until the election approached and even then it was via a short response or delivered through a spokesperson. The crap at went on during his rallies and caught on tape was disgusting. His silence encouraged it in my opinion. His repeated claims to keep Hispanics and Muslims out fueled the racists. It is really that simple
Oh, please. Let's look at facts, some of which came to light with the release of Hillary's e-mails. Your conclusion regarding recism is drawn from the response time regarding the KKK? That is a nonsensical stretch. "...The crap at went on during his rallies..." has been solidly linked to the DEMS who sent people to his rallies to do just what you are criticizing. (Brought out in detail in the Hillary e-mails.) They were staged to make Trump look bad in the eyes of people like you who have not really looked at the 'fact' but listened to sound bites from the press or Dems. Trump echoed what many, many others (including Dems) said regarding the need for vetting of those coming into our Country. Listen to his message--Listen!. He supports immigration but wants it to be legal and after vetting to be certain of who is coming in. The spin to make it appear he is against all Hispanics and Muslims is absolute nonsense, and only those folks desiring to distort the truth and cast Trump is bad light stoop to speaking in half truths. I doubt anything I have said will have any impact on your attitude or prejudice. Some are just filled with bias and hatred and cannot tolerate someone who desires to do what is best for the Country. Listening, reading with comprehension, and rational thought would be traits you may desire to cultivate. With the apparent massive void in this area any thought or study would have to be seen as easily moving in a positive direction.

And I have seen many times on the media in discussion of Abraham Lincoln and he is rarely mentioned as the father of the Republican Party. I wonder why? He is referred to as a great President, perhaps the greatest ever. Leader of the Union army to destroy slavery and keep the union together. Writer of the Gettysburg Address. Savior of the Republic. Issuer of the Emancipation Proclamation. But rarely identified as a Republican.

Sure says a lot about a lot of people. Just look at Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, California, etc where the Dems have held sway for generations. Sad that so many will not (or do not have the capacity) to look at life and their ouw circumstances in a realistic fashion.

Many opened minded posters on this board have seen the same behavior from you.

Trump's silence encouraged this new era of racism to build momentum. I have also called out Obama for dividing Americans. I criticize equally.
What silence? That was not silence. That was the media playing along with Hillary's campaign wishes to try and race tag Trump and his supporters.

I think he wonders how you could possibly wander off of his liberal thought plantation. After all, thinking for yourself is not something libs want blacks to do. That is why Trump scares them so much.

If Trump does work with Jim Brown, Ray Lewis, Steve Harvey and Kanye to improve inner cities, invest in new projects, improve education, reduce crime, bring lots of jobs and bring new hope, libs may lose more and more African Americans. It scares the hell out of them.

Yes, because he just appointed a racist as the AG. You are voting against your own interest and you can't see it. There is nothing racist about that. It will sink in your dense skull some day.

Who are you to tell him what to think? Who to vote for? Who are you to tell him he is voting against his own interests if he doesn't believe Sessions is a racist? Must he think like you to be truly black?

You truly are a racist, the worst kind. Most racists know they are racist. You don't have a clue. You want him on your thought plantation and if he doesn't think the "right way", you denigrate him. Sick.

Trump had not even nominated Sessions when you asked me that question, and once again you define him (Sessions) as something he is not. Just as you tried to do with Trump using that housing discrimination suit in New York city.

I challenged you to find one racist thing he did in that case or was convicted of (even linked you to the discovery files of that case) and asked you to cite it for me? You never did accept my challenge and that's cool. At least you stopped calling Trump a "racist" with no cause.

Now you're trying the same thing with Sessions, and you don't even know what you're talking about. So let me ask you, has Sessions ever fought against the rights of Black people, or prosecuted them just because they were Black, or sponsored any legislation to keep Black people oppressed?

Or has he in fact done the exact opposite of all of those things on behalf of Black people?

Which is it countryroads89?

He (Trump) is a racist. He discriminated against black people in housing. Open and shut case. He settled out of court on numerous conditions.

He is a racist.

Go ahead and twist things however you want. I won't have another argument with you over it. There is no arguing with you. Once someone provides facts and proof, you shrug them off because it's not what you WANT to believe.

I made that decision in 1983, when the fight for gender equality in business was really beginning. None of the people who whine about the way I talk to women mention the fact that I voluntarily promoted gender equality in a male-dominated industry. The women who work and have worked for me will vouch for the fact that I was as demanding of them as I was of their male counterparts. • In 2000, he declared that he supported gay anti-discrimination laws and the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell. He also advocated for “a very strong domestic-partnership law that guarantees gay people the same legal protections and rights as married people. In fact, it’s strikingly progressive even today. http://www.slate.com/blogs/outward/...obviously_the_most_pro_gay_gop_candidate.html

And you're the judge of my stupidity? Compared to what?

What are your intellectual credentials to evaluate mine?

It is easily judged by your constant idiotic posts. You argue something completely wrong, then you are shown you are wrong, and then you argue with the facts presented.

OK, so answer the question I asked you weeks ago about the FACT of a criminal who can be convicted for killing the unborn Baby of an expectant Mother during the commission of a crime against her, yet that same Baby can be legally killed by that same mother up to 20 minutes before it's birth?

How is one murder, especially when the Constitution according to the Left does not even recognize it's existence as a human being, yet that mother can legally decide to kill it even if only for the sole reason of her last minute decision to not want it to be born?

You call me stupid, I asked you to explain that dichotomy to me with facts, and you ducked out of our debate after you promised to "destroy" me.

So now's your chance to prove me stupid, or to swallow your own tongue.

You have me confused with someone else. I rarely get into the abortion debates.

I don't make laws, take it up with those that do if you think it is apparently mutually conflicting situations.

No I don't. It was you. I can find the thread for you if you like. When I do, will you answer the question?

Look for the thread. Chances are I won't answer your question though, because, like I said, I don't make laws, you need to take it up with those that do. Abortion in this country is legal. Ohio just passed a 20 week law. You can bet your sweet *** it will be overturned. Kentucky is getting ready to do the same thing. It will be overturned too.
