What a great opportunity our team has this weekend

This game is the real benchmark game this season. The key to this game will be not allowing Bama to beat us twice, not allowing Johnny to single handily beat us, and coming out in the 1st quarter against TAMU and getting a lead. Our offense can take advantage of TAMU, but we have to have good preparation this week and come out ready to play. If we get behind early, this game could get ugly. I am actually glad that our crazy uniform game falls on this game. Wearing the new crazy uniforms may help our team get a little more pumped and read to go.

This weekend is the biggest game of the year, and we could be playing for, what will become, a spot in the Cotton Bowl or Chik Fil-a bowl.

Best of all, if we win this weekend, no one will give a rats *** about what happened at Bama Saturday night.

The question is, do we have the team leadership to bounce back?

The last question is really what this weekend boils down to. PERIOD. We have the talent to beat aTm and we are the early game at home. This game is solely and exclusively about Banks, Cam, Boyd, Tyler and Bump getting the rest of the team focused and ready to take care of business. There is A TON on the line this weekend.

I would agree with you if this game were an independent scenario, but psychologically, after what happened at Bama, if we got behind early, the fans could get restless and things could begin to snowball. I am not saying that would happen, but there are certainly the ingredients there for it to happen.

The main thing is that we need to come out ready to play this week and not dick around.

We will find out this weekend if we have any leadership on this team! If we have good leadership, this team goes 10-2, if we don't, they go 8-4.

Huge game.

It will be the game that will propel us into a special season or the one that sets up up to finishing very average. We are 7-1 with a loss to the best team in the country. Stepping back and looking at it, we are in a great spot. However, there's a lot of emotions the coaches are going to have to manage this week. Are they going to let the players feel sorry for themselves, or they going to get the players to play pissed off? We shall see.

Regardless of all of that, I want to see a smart game plan on defense that can minimize their QB's mobility threat down the field. I don't mind the guy running side to side - he makes mistakes while throwing on the run. Just don't let the guy with questionable decision making have an easy beat with his legs down the field. If we can manage that, we should be in good shape to win. aTm will make enough mistakes we can capitalize on if we don't give the QB an easy out.

If we play the way we did against Tennessee, except the kickoff return brain fart, we will win. Sustatin drives, keep Johnny and their offense off the field, and create a turnover or two. Also don't give up the long plays and stop them on big 3rd downs. This game is so huge, and if our offense gets in a rythym we are a good team. Mullen and crew will be all over them this week and I think we will come out pissed off and out for blood against A&M. Maybe the 11 o'clock game is a good thing so we can hurry up and play and not wait around Saturday.

I have said this the last few weeks. This will be ***'s biggest coaching job since he's been here. I think 2 things play in his favor #1 Seniors and upper classmen at the critical spots who normally will rebound well. #2 As someone has already stated, the uniform change will bring excitement that will make his job easier. I still think we're going 9-3 - 10-2.
