outside Banks? I assume that at the minimum Bumphis, Slay and Boyd should get looks, though I doubt either will go early. Does Lawrence get a shot? Broomfield. I guess there will be plenty of combines between then and now.

Bumphis going high would definitely help our pitch to WRs, who we historically have trouble signing. He was our first highly thought of recruit in a while, and look how he produced.

Our players always prove themselves in the combine since Balis showed up. Lawrence could be a 7th rounder or UFA. He'll definitely make a practice squad.

Really? Sherriod was horrible, Mitchell unimpressive. Cox has been the only one super impressive. There are better combine prep guys than Balis. I don't recall Balis training anyone for combine or pro day.

That Balis made **** is hype. We look slow and weak on the field. We are pretty good on the endurance side. We tend to not run out of gas.

Wrong. He's not as good as the hype, but he's a good strength coach. We do not look slow and weak, guy.

I don't recall Sherrod doing awful. In fact, I remember most "experts" saying he was a lock for 2nd round.

Mitchell had an underwhelming career.

Everyone else has done great though. Especially considering a year before they showed up guys like Pegues made our program a laughing stock at the combine.

Mitchell had an underwhelming career.

Started for 4 years and got drafted. From the Falcons bio page:

One of the Bulldogs most consistent defenders, played in 50 games and recorded 283 total tackles with four interceptions during his career. Ranked second on the team with 95 tackles (50 solo) while notching three tackles for loss, one sack, six passes defensed and one forced fumble as a senior in 2011. Became the leader of the Bulldog secondary in 2010, posting 93 total tackles, including double digit tackles in three games. As a sophomore in 2009, started all 12 games and posted 65 tackles with four interceptions. Played in all 12 games during his true freshman season for the Bulldogs and was selected to the Freshman All-SEC team by the league’s coaches after notching 31 tackles and one pass defense.

Don't post retarded ****. He definitely left a gaping hole in our secondary this year.

Boyd was just added to the Senior Bowl roster and will practice tomorrow. Good chance for him to improve whatever Draft stock he has.

That's not retarded ****. He wasn't the greatest S on the team his entire career at MSU. Was he consistent? Yeah. He was good enough to get drafted with their last pick of the draft.

Of course the Falcons are going to hype their 6th round pick though. "Mitchell was the 2nd best safety on the team his entire career in college."?????

I like Mitchell. He's a former bulldog. That doesn't mean that I shouldn't think he was all that great. If you don't like my opinion quit reading it.

I'm a little surprised about Cam Lawrence being projected as a draft pick. He is horrible in coverage and I'm not sure that he is big enough to handle the run. I could see him being a special teams player- but I don't think very many people draft those.

Broomfield is small, but he has a knack for making plays. I can't really see him being drafted either.

I would like to see some team sign Tobias Smith as a free agent just so that he can say that he had an opportunity at pro football just because I think he has earned it. Sad that his body just won't hold up, because he does have NFL talent.

From what I understand ...

I thought smith was a lock to get a 6th year?

it is up to him as to whether he returns next year. It would improve his chances if he came back and had an injury free year but he hasn't been able to do that yet.

He would be- but word on the screet is that Smith is going to hang it up and not put his body thru another season. He wants to get into coaching, and from all accounts, should make a pretty good one.

Hate to hear that, but I sure can't blame him. He's a good Bulldog who's played through a lot of injuries he probably shouldn't have. Hope he does well in coaching.

It would probably be the best thing for him to do. Forgo the wear and tear on his body and get a head start on his coaching career. I think he's going to make a good coach too.

And you should know that 'things change'. Ask Shaka Smart.

However, I don't think Smith has made a final decision yet anyway.

I can play that game too. It wasn't Balis strength program either. See how easy that is? To declare something therefore it must be true?

Our defense has sucked under Wilson. That's why they appeared incompetent. You emotional ******* are so predictable, everyone crowed about how we looked the part until this year, no we're saying we don't? Keep your ignorant mouths shut, for your own good.

That'd be a record wouldn't it Engie?

Yes. At least in recent times. But in reality, I expect us to get 5 drafted this year...

This is about what we should expect in almost every class going forward. As we recruit more and more young talent, all that will be left in these upper classes are going to be guys that can play. We graduate something like 17 this year and 13 next year.

Of the 13ish next year, you've got the following that have a good chance (at this point) of being drafted into the NFL:
Gabe Jackson
Tyler Russell
LeDarius Perkins
Nickoe Whitley
Denico Autry
Charles Siddoway
Deontae Skinner

Baker Swedenberg will probably also get a shot in the NFL if he decides to go that route...

Speaking of S&C. Did anyone see during the TN game that the color guy gave Akins credit for all of Stansbury's success? I laughed.
