They did the same thing with Freeze. What’s really ironic about the “Lanestein tapes” is that if we use that scenario as a metaphor, Ole Miss/Oxford is Jefferey Epstein. Because they enabled/protected the behavior when he was winning but it was all just blackmail material. Lane is the stupid politician that flew to the island to get rubbed down by teenagers.

I’ll admit over and over. I am jealous of how they get out a message and get 100 percent, locked in, participation and backing of it. They have made themselves look like victims here while everyone gave the thumbs up to Mullen flirting around with other jobs. That takes skill, I admit.
The only thing that keeps me from beleiving any of it is that I have a hard time buying that all of that could have happened and been kept underwraps up until this point, even with the culture being what it is. I mean, you see how fast the ordeal with the girlfriend / boyfriend's dad went viral.

Both sides are in an all out blitz to claim victim status. OM has activated the homer media establishment in a huge effort to discredit Kiffin. Kiffin is doing the same with his media. When the reality is that a good coach left a middle of the road program for a blue blood which he has the right to do. That's pretty much it. It's not about a lack of integrity for abandoning his team. Or a vindictive university trying to keep Lane from coaching his players whom he loves. A coach they wanted to keep left, and they have huge hurt feelings. They are playing the victim maybe a little more than Lane is.
It's unfortunate that this happens to teams. We have been in a similar situation. But the low to mid tier programs are always going to deal with this. I'm sick of hearing both of them whine.

Lane dated a girl in Oxford that was in her Mid 20s and was also a former cheerleader at Ole Miss. She dumped him and he went crazy about it and it included him driving to Dallas during the week of the Kentucky game last year and the girl and her father almost put a restraining order on him. This story also includes Lane showing up to the Ex's brothers funeral and having to be asked to leave. Forever and always it will remain undefeated.
The real story is that Ole Miss fans had no idea about any of this until a couple of weeks ago. Thats why Carter and Golding told him to find another job. He was begging to coach the playoffs but the big time boosters in Oxford couldn't stand to have an immoral man coaching their team for another second. Thankfully Golding is a man of unimpeachable character and was actually the driving force behind their success the whole time.

I realize some of this is parody, but I have had them tell me that the staff did all of the coaching and that Kiffin didn't have any relationships with his players and didn't know most of any of their names. Also that the staff would remain completely intact after his departure. Also that the recruiting class would remain intact due to the strength of their collective. will be interesting to see this unfold when their season ends

I’ve heard similar stories. My cousin is good friends with the father of a certain lineman currently in the NFL. Originally from Vicksburg. Played under Kiffin his first two years in Oxford. Unusual sure. But there are no victims here. There was a contract with terms that appear to be being met. Meaning buyout, pay, etc. Nobody is running a victim campaign for the coaches who were put in the road 6 games into the season why? Because the terms of the contract (buyout) were met. LSU tried to get out of theirs but ended up meeting their obligation.

I honestly don't get what the deal is over his alleged acts of coitus with coeds. If they are just students and not under his supervision then whats the problem. I don't see it as any different as him doing the same with the 60 yo secretary in the Registrar office. Now, don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's something I condone but there are plenty of people out there having sex with college age people.
He is the head football coach at an SEC school. He is in a position of authority.
He is in no way in a position of authority over any random student at that university that isn't working in any position for the athletic office no more so than someone working at the local McDonalds.
