I work in IT for a hospital. When I was looking for a "handle", I had just been working with our digital imaging group. They had devices to store x-rays, etc. that they called catapults. Lame I know!

If you punishment to act as a deterrent, you can't hand out the punishment the guilty party wants. To be truly punitive, the punishment should be the one they don't want.

Being number two in the state is finally taking them down, they finally admitted something, I can't believe it. Every mall or sporting goods store I ever go in has a huge Kentucky section and a small louisville section that never gets sold, while the Kentucky apparel flies off the shelves, By the way that dude should already know most of us that don't live there already avoid louisville. Growing up I remember when the county schools were playing the louisville schools in the state championships in basketball or football, everybody I know was always pulling for the county schools. They are getting desperate and it's funny.
The measures they will take to deflect responsibility is incredible. Mad at UK, mad at Matt Jones, mad at Katina Powell, mad at UK fans, mad at Coach Cal, etc... The only one they have right is the fact that they are mad at Andre McGee.

The problem I have with trying to change a song,history,or anything of the past to appease an ethnic group for wrongs is wrong in itself,tearing down confederate flags and civil war memorials will never change what happened,and change history taught to our children doesn't make anything better ePrior to 1986 the "people" part was eh, a different word, and they sure didn't have much to be gay/happy about back then!

Pretty bad, I imagine, I remember back in the eighties when they won the championship, their fans would say number 1 in the country and our fans would say, but number 2 in the state. That used to make them real mad.[laughing]
If they are going to just fine the schools rather than post season bans, loss of scholarships, etc., then they have to make it so the fines hurt. Just telling a school to fork over 10 million or so would do no good. Maybe what they should do is make the school pay the NCAA all of the money they have received from the NCAA tournament for all the years covered since the action in question occurred AND make all the other schools in the their conference return all of their money also. Then we might have a system that would work. You might give the other conference schools the option of booting the offending school out of the conference with no chance to ever return. There are options but if they are not severe enough they will mean nothing.
