I think Pitino is out before the season starts. I really do.

Why couldn't this have came out after one of the years we knocked them out of the NCAA Tournament? Would have been nice to have that loss fester on him for the rest of his miserable, lying, cheating life.

I'm not sure the UofL job would be considered a great job at this point. The recruiting base in Kentucky is weak and you have Cal a few miles down the road wrecking havoc. The UofL coach will always be compared to Cal and UK. Who would want to have to directly compete with that? Pitino is the perfect fit because he can win big without elite talent. Somebody like Gregg Marshall might work, but I don't see why he would turn down Texas and then take the UofL job. They are screwed.

Not a chance and that's wishful thinking. I think if anything in this matter is crystal clear is that he had no knowledge of this what so ever. The more that comes out the more this just sounds like college kids having some fun and throwing around some money. The girls sound more like friends than "professionals". I mean they were in swimsuits for goodness sakes. I am beginning to think this was even less than I thought yesterday. Still probably not in the best test but it's just college kids having fun.

Unless he wrote the article, it was not a shot at Erik. Love reading different articles but this one wasn't great.

And yes, my other opinion is that most are blindly cheering against Louisville. How would you view a short article on Calipari's character with Pat Forde as the only source? I'll assume most wouldn't have a favorable opinion. I see the same thing here. However, I'd love to hear the reasoning behind loving an article about the culture of an athletic department built around this lady and her credentials.

Again, this was a completely different point of view. Very interesting, regarding an, assumingly, subject matter expert, who has had experience with UL prior, regarding an issue that no one had any idea would come up in this case.

Sports Illustrated felt it relevant. We are simply discussing it.

You came across a bit condescending with your last comment in your original post.

Now you state people in the thread "love" the article...?

You having a bad day?

I guess I am just too accustomed to the way UNC does business. Heck, Roy cheats and gets an extension. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yea it seems like in today's world there's just no accountability, especially in sports. At least not like there used to be. Imagine UK 1988 happening now. It would be nothing to people, probably not even enough to make the NCAA's nipples harden, but we were branded with Kentucky shame over it and ended up on the cover of sports illustrated.

This world is messed up.

Don't most coach's contracts have a clause giving them an out if their are NCAA violations?

Yes, but that means they have to wait for the NCAA to do something, and God only knows how like that might take. Definitely not before the start of this season.

For a recruit who would testify under oath that he'd never had sexual intercourse before going on the recruiting trip to U. of L., and that he did have sexual intercourse with a prostitute while on a recruiting trip to U. of L., and that he felt pressured in the situation, etc., etc. . . . IMHO, yes. Seems to me that the case gets much weaker if the recruit can't testify under oath that he'd never had sexual intercourse before going on the recruiting trip to U. of L.

So the question: I've surfed all the talk radio from KSR to several different Bird shows and have heard several UofL fans call in and say they are done with this sleaze (there have been however some sunshine pumper programs who cut off these callers)...do we accept them in now since they've seen the light?

Has UL opened themselves up for a recruits parents to file a civil suit against the university,Jurich,Pitino and Ramsey stating they accepted an invitation to officially visit the university and trusted that their son would be safe. And now they know their child has been exposed to prostitutes and felt pressured to participate? Is there a ligament argument here or is there not?

We will need to consult with Dr. Frank Jobe on that one....
