Recruiting alone would be a reason for them to hire a new coach. I would almost prefer they keep Pitino as I really don't see any parent allowing their child to go and play for him. You clean house and hire a new coach and you can at least say "look all that old bad stuff is out of here, its a new regime and we're going to do things the right way". Of course they will more than likely be dealing with sanctions etc. I actually hope RP stays as i think it will be best case for rival fans.

I would rather him be given a show cause by the NCAA, fired by ul, and then removed from the Hall of Fame. The ensuing "Rick Pitino Rule" would ensure no other coaches were inducted until 5 years after their retirement. That would be plenty of ammo to take me to my last days.

I'm wondering if there are any pics of these "ladies" sitting in the UL coaching staff's complimentary seats at some of the games.

If so, ruh roh . . .

I doubt it - these were Dollar Store grade ho's after all. Katina complained about McGee giving her tickets to crappy exhibition games.

To all the UL fans who complain this is fake, I'm sorry, you can't make this up, unless it was all penned by some comic genius.

There are so many good slogans to use....its a target rich environment.

Fourni-gate
Whoricane Katina
Papa Johns (the dads of the recruits who were serviced)
The Billy Minardi Gentlemen's Club aka Little Brothel
L1C4nicate and many other versions

I personally have been given a treasure trove of bits to use.

I have enough fantasy football team names to last a lifetime.

It's all just sick and sad really.

Honestly, that's the fundamental truth here. Yes it's hilarious that of all programs to get caught running a prostitution ring for players/recruits, it's Pitino's. However, it's pretty sad that they were encouraging the very type of behavior that ruins careers of otherwise gifted athletes.

The thing that has to sicken Joanne Pitino is the thought that The Billy Minardi Hall was converted into a Gentlemen's Club. Do the players rooms come equipped with a pole?

He claims Minardi's death caused him to cheat then he turns Minardi Hall into a ***** house

Some kind of best friend aren't you Crypy Keeper

I know we still have these ridiculous Pitino lovers on this board, but can we remove his sorry name from our Rafters? Please

On their board they are dismissing the whole thing claiming that even all of social media is downing Powell. No, sorry, they arent.
And if this was an attempt at money, how would you just randomly pull some staffer off the basketball team...no one in the country, not even louisville fans even knew who this McGee was. Sorry turdville, it's real

I am fascinated with the legal issues this mess presents. It occurred to me today that this whole ordeal is like a law school examination with a myriad of legal issues which must be sorted out.

So lawyers and law students chime in.

I am NOT a criminal lawyer. However , at first blush, I believe two major issues present interesting legal questions.

First , THE MONEY. I simply do not believe that the assistant coach took ten thousand out of his pocket and paid for the whores. If I am correct I believe this has huge ramifications. Maybe a booster? Maybe the Card foundation? Maybe another highly paid coach? Maybe a corporation? but certainly not Mcgee. Does this bring it to the level of a conspiracy and perhaps mail fraud depending upon the facts.? What other issues do you see with the money part of it?

Secondly, the FIFTEEN YEAR OLD really bothers me (and that perhaps some of the recruits were not of legal age ). Think Penn State. A child is involved and sexually abused. That creates a whole new level of concern and culpability.

If someone gives money for an illegal conspiracy to provide whores to young men and one is underage what crime have they committed.?

Does the donor of the money have responsibility for even more than a conspiracy even if the donor(foundation? corporation? Individual? had no knowledge that one of the girls was a fifteen year old? My guess without doing any legal research is they do. Kind of like the felony murder doctrine. But again I am not skilled in criminal law and have not done one minute of legal research on this .

BTW has McGee's lawyer violated any canon of ethics by threatening the Madam with criminal prosecution to gain advantage in any civil proceeding arising from this unfortunate situation.

That's just a few issues to get us started . Anyone care to chime in.

Lou

Not an attorney...but I can't believe Katina will be able to stand by her story (even if it is all true) if the IRS starts snooping. And you know UL officials will use their influence to light that fire. No way she reported the $10K.

Why does the tax issue keep coming up? We don't know if taxes were paid on the cash? Until we know let's forget about the IRS.

I wonder if the 15 year old was used for 16-17 year old recruits. It would still be illegal and unbelievably immoral but at least not statutory.

LilBro doesnt want McGee, players, ex recruits etc... to be placed on a witness stand in a criminal or civil case. If they go after Katrina either way, my first witness called will be McGee...and then players fathers. Unless this is a total fabrication...and I don't think anyone thinks that is the case, there is no way a lawyer would advise his client to lie on the stand. If there is even a fraction of the story that is true....there is no way to explain it away.

My personal opinion is that McGee did this in order to try to improve his standing as a recruiter. Cal is killing it down the road and LilBro cannot get a sniff. So I bet this started out fairly innocently enough in an attempt to help their recruiting, McGee brings in some strippers for a party....like many of us have seen at a bachelors party....and it went off really well with the players and a recruit or two and it just went down hill from there. Pretty soon he's hitting up boosters for money to pay the strippers to have sex with the recruits and the dads on now this thing grows into a situation that will bring down the program and Pitino.

So there are many many people that are involved or know about what was going on. The Duke Lacross analogy is flawed for a couple reasons.

1. Duke admin or coaches did not hire the strippers. The players themselves pooled their money for their own party.
2. The Stripper cried rape. That is criminal matter because she accused the students of committing a crime.
3. It was a single event, not a 4 year long ordeal.

So unless every single one of the players, dads, strippers etc.... decide to change their stories and say that Katina is a liar....then this is far from over. Too much evidence already.

Finally. If they are smart they have held back plenty of evidence that they can use, anticipating that there will be lies told...and that is when they use their own evidence to show the University etc... have lied.

Does anybody have a link to info stating that one of the girls was only 15? That is beyond terrible if true.
This!

Let's make sure to post factual info. Rafters has a lot of traffic, and similarly to Pack Pride, I could definitely see other fan bases stopping by here to get the latest since we're UL's most heated rival.

This is the one thing that makes me believe it is ALL true. Why would a Pulitzer-Prize winning author risk his reputation on this prostitute if he hadn't seen and verified all of the information in the book?
