If you were to build a 4 headed statue of Ramsey, Jurich, Pitino & Petrino where would the best location for it be?

I have read a bunch about this, I don't recall anyone of significance making the demands to take down banners.

You haven't read anything at all about this if you don't think anyone is asking for banners to come down.

When I first moved to Louisville, I worked for an old white shoe firm. The managing partner then was, naturally, an old guy, had been around forever, real captain of industry type. Big Cards fan, he was the first I heard use the term "bluebellies" to talk derisively about UK. But I remember he told me once that the UK board of trustees was legit, filled with serious and competent people who took that responsibility seriously. By contrast, the uofl board was comprised of lightweights, with unserious and frivolous people.

I thought of that today when I read the Tim Sullivan piece in the CJ today, where he interviews the chair of the Louisville board:

"When asked about University President James Ramsey's statement that expressed confidence in Jurich but made no mention of Pitino, Benz said he would not read much into it, citing the school's chain-of-command and the administration's desire to "avoid anything that would be harmful to the investigation."
"As a chairman of trustees, I'm only going to comment on our senior administrative staff," Benz said. "On a personal basis, I have nothing but confidence in our coaches."

There you have it. The chair of the board has nothing but confidence in Pitino and Petrino. Potemkin Villages all the way down.....

You cannot make this stuff up.

In discussing why The Foundation lawyered up these guys are all over the place - most think they are about to take the gloves off and fight this thing :joy:

A couple others know this is for liability purposes.

But LLCard is not sure which is correct, either way it is a positive!

"I think your right. Its going on the defensive. However I think by going defensive you are going on the offensive... we know there are things that dont make sense. They want to figure out exactly what happened so we are prepared and can of course tell the real story what happened."

Even if all of this is true, it is a minor infraction...

Falcon 1435

"Look what's going on down the road. Look at a $100,000.00 necklace and fake courses. Won't name schools. This is BS. This is a very minor infraction in other schools even in our worst case scenario. Yet we want to fire our coach and impose a post season ban on ourselves before any investigation? Is our self esteem that low? Hell no, time to fight back for once."

IMO, I'm not sure anything that was done would warrant a player being named ineligible. That was the biggest difference with UMass and Memphis is that the NCAA deemed players from each team ineligible due to taking money from an agent prior to the end of the season and cheating on his entrance exams. Nothing in the UL case would make a player ineligible imo.

Plausible story....

Wait a minute! What if....?

Sec221

"Or he (McGee) spurned her from the beginning.

This could have started from him NOT wanting to be associated with her due to his position at UofL. Maybe he knew what she was about, kept the contact at a social level, and eventually distanced himself from her?

If we look at the situation again, is the book discrediting McGee? Or is it UofL? Or a combination of both?"

Like it never even happened.

Personally he stands by them but not professionally as a representative of the university. Sound endorsement.

Bthaunert.......so if someone gives a player or players cash. = ineligible Or paid for a car or signed memorabilia ineligible. But 4 years worth of paying for prostitutes ( underage I might add ) but that extra benefit is ok?

It's only prostitution....

LoaluvlLu

"For Pete's sake, men can now marry men. Do we really think men having sex with women is going to bring down the pillars of civilization? I personally know a Div. 1 player who was recruited via prostitute way back in 1968. The "news" here is that we've actually got a Ho to write about it.

This isn't gambling on games or point shaving, this isn't money pay-offs to recruits or their families, this isn't grade or eligibility fraud.

This is the oldest profession and, while stupid, is not going to 'cause anyone who's been around the block to blush. Anyway, one of the hallmarks of being a basketball player at a school such as UofL is that you don't have even try to find a sexual liaison, and you certainly don't have to pay for it.

I refuse to believe that a two-bit Hoosier ***** can bring down one of the few things I so thoroughly enjoy in this world."

The Lyle kid is just spiteful and part of the whole conspiracy...

BLF2145

"Especially after his scholly offer was rescinded.

He thinks lying is revenge."

RedBoneCard

"It seems fishy that Lyle has been the only one to confirm the allegations. Are there any connections between Maurer and Lyle, who once played for Indianoplis Arsenal Tech?"

CrimsonElf

"I don't believe this guy. Why should he be believed? There's a lot of contrary statements made by people refuting what the hooker says. Why should this one guy be believed? This is G-D setup!"

Or was he coerced?

Cardinal Spackler

"Did he give his answers under duress? If so, that statement is invalid."

Posting messages from UL fans on our UK board is dumb. If you want to read the UL board why don't you stay over there?

Let me tell you something you pinhead troll, you have already been called out once by others.

Why in the hell you are even on this thread I do not know. Every post you have made in your 5 minutes here has been a smartass remark about a player or a poster.

You might want to start making some new usernames, and read this:

I would like to read the UK board and I believe there are rules against posting things from other boards here so please follow the rules, stop name calling, and talk about basketball.

You have been here 5 minutes you do not know the rules

You have no idea what our goals are for this thread either.

Go back to slamming the other posters in the practice thread while you still can, obvious troll.

So you and your buddy call me a bunch of names in two thread then you say the mods will be here in the morning to ostensibly address me and my posts? Unbelievable.

When is the last time you even posted something about basketball?

Louisville is our main rival, they cheat, all the time..their school is in trouble, namely their basketball team, this is a basketball board...we are talking about a basketball team who cheated, who we play every year. If your butthurt over this thread...there are 200 other ones. Sorry, you failed.

Talking about them is great. I did quite a bit of it myself in this thread. But I don't want to read their posts here and i don't think we are supposed to be posting/cut and pasting other posts from other boards here on our board.

If you haven't noticed the whole point of this thread is to make fun of UofL, not talk UK basketball. In turn, that may come with posting stupid ish that they say on their board. Just a little heads up.

Name call then accuse of being a troll. You are a priceless bunch.

My first few posts in this thread before Lumpy and his gang started name calling me. Clearly the body of work of a UL fan:

I think I understand the whole "Louisville Men" gimmick Pitino started up about a year ago now.

That and it has a nice catchy escort service ring to it.

"We can do more in 15 seconds than most men can do all day... experience Louisville Men!"

Yes but which head would he lick first?

I have been inspired to create a masterpiece:

Yeah, because trolls never do this...

You have twice posted in this thread that you do not want to read posts made by UL fans on their boards in the most EPIC UL THREAD EVER.

This has evolved from a major scandal to the comic relief of how their pathetic fanbase is in complete tailspin of heartcrushing and total denial.

You may want to view another thread. (And people with 9 posts spouting about board rules are never liked).

Best quote ever from Tom jurich.
"We talk all the time. He's my basketball coach," Jurich said. "He wouldn't condone this, either. He has a perfect track record."
:joy:

I think this one might be better, from his defense of jurich: "Tom and I are committed to the values that are fundamental to the success of Cardinal Athletics."

Values like taking criminal transfers from other schools, retaining coaches that are guilty of adultery and abortion and HIRING other coaches kicked out of other schools for adultery and criminal misuse of public funds, inflating the COA recruiting tool, covering up for the players, hiring and RETAINING a proven cheater like hurtt, etc etc.

In other words athletic success is the only thing they value, just win baby.

I am surprised that this is the first big scandal to come out of that cesspool, and very surprised that it wasn't football that got them in trouble first------but it is still early.
