Have lived in or near Louisville most of my life, and actually have some great friends that are reasonable, good natured UL fans. Most of them were just raised cheering for the Cards, whereas many of us were born into blue bleeding families.

Unfortunately...by living here...we are regularly subjected to...well...

For the 100,000 time. He's not a Louisville fan. He was very convincing for a long time though. He screwed up during the scandal and kind of let it out.

And if I'm wrong, this is the worst "fan" I've ever seen. Completely void of all logic and meaning. Completely sells his team out.
On the, football thread steelers basically outed him too.

I think you give him too much credit. He did, after all, manage to have sex with someone he just met, on a restaurant tabletop. That's not just immoral. It's stupid.....
.....just a little something between the antipasto and the main course, or maybe she was the main course before the antipasto. a 15 second louisville man.

I am sorry for Odom and for all that care about him. From everything I've heard he is a great guy.
Does this change the argument about not paying for sex. A guy who was a NBA player paying for sex, if he does I can imagine someone doing it for college players. Even T-Will coming back to Louisville, when he was in the NBA, could pay for sex. Guys a lot better and more famous than him have paid an there are some that still do.

This has no bearing on how anyone should feel about his current situation, but wasn't there a story that Lamar Odom was set to commit to UK when he Ricky Roed us at the last second and Pitino told him no way?

He was recruited heavily by and ended up at Rhode Island with Jim Herrick, who was like a father to him. He lost his mom at age 12 and his dad wasn't around. He has had a lot of death around him. Sad, really.

we see politicians, movie stars ( some are married to beautiful women) and yes athletes in the news all the time for buying prostitutes
why would a ul player be any different
ul fans are trying to deny and deflect this anyway they can
in doing so, they are providing the basketball world with a lot of comedy

I don't believe for one second that Cal REALLY doesn't hope it's true. People that candidly knew Cal when he got hired by UK said that Cal mentioned (I guess as a challenge) wanting to run Pitinio out of the state. Pretty sure Matt Jones has ever said this on one of the Periscopes. Cal reeling in recruits, forcing UL to change their recruiting tactics, having it come around and bite them in the *** 5 years later, and possibly Pitino being forced to leave UL.... that's a win for Calipari.
I thought it was obvious that Cal was making fun of him. The quote is no way he knew, but saying he would have known, is saying Pitino knew. Maybe just me though.

I thought Coach Cal was classy with his comments concerning the fire brewing in L1C4 land.

as much as pitino opens his pie hole every time someone asks him a question about us i kinda wish cal would of just went into a 20 minute rant on what should be done and what he would do... he should of thrown in "do things the right way" just turn the knife a little.

Lol....isn't he just adorable.

All of a sudden what Cal thinks is credible.

Seriously for those that deal with these fans in person on a regular basis......

Is this sh*t for real? Are they really this delusional?

Even more so, living in Louisville I'm staying away from the Kool-aid is all I can say.

Just wanted to make sure that I got a post in the longest thread in history. [smoke]
FWIW, there appear to be a lot of holes in the stories and the various versions that have now been told by the same people. I'll wait for the results of the investigation before passing judgment. There is much that doesn't add up right now.

Cal and Pitino don't like each other, but they have reached a period of détente. This may sound crazy, but this could hurt our ability to keep Cal here. Those two made each other better. Without the ghost of Pitino around any more, Cal might look for the next challenge. I hope I'm wrong, obviously.

Please keep Pitino, Louisville. Syracuse kept Boeheim.

the day after the book came out i had a ul fan come up to me at work and say "turns out there's no evidence. they lost all the text and they just recreated them from memory. it's the word of a ***** that wrote the book". i pointed out that the book was co-written by a pulitzer prize winning investigative reporter who brought down a corrupt police force in indianapolis and the forensic team has worked with fbi to look for evidence in deleted and lost electronic media.... dude said "oh, so we are kinda screwed huh?" i just laughed.

going seven and one against pitino including two tournament victories would have taken his motivation already. what keeps cal going is making players look as good as can be and making them as ready as possible to get drafted. he says if we are sending all-stars to the league then the winning here would be a natural byproduct. and he's been right. make no mistake though he literally has said many times this is what makes him happy and sleeps well.

By the time Cal is done here at UK, he could have up to 50 players who have played at least 1 season in the NBA. Thats insane.
