I think we can abide losing to better opponents. It's the total lack of effort and caring what goes on in a game, from players like Bost, Moultrie, and Dontae Sydneythat's frustrating to fans.

In 2003, State football went 2-10. That would work out to about 7-24 in basketball, including 2-14 in the SEC. Rick Stansbury would be fired, no questions asked.

Conversely, had JWS gone 7-5 and went to a Music City Bowl or whatever in 2003, he'd have gotten a contract extension.

The reasons for #2 might be some or all of the other choices but nobody would really care that much if we had won the games we were supposed to win because we'd be sitting at about 26 wins, nationally ranked and a fairly high seed in the NCAAT.

Fights, disputes, kids on court, weight control, twitter, feigning injuries, babying players,.................when has it been about playing basketball and the love of the game

They're playin for themselves. They come into the program selfish and they leave the same way,

at MSU and they said the same thing. Their main point was the selfishness of the players. It is tough to have sustained success with a team with the "me first"<div>mentality.</div>

but i voted for the strength and conditioning ******** to give it some love.

I was watching Marshall v. Memphis the other day and EVERY ONE of their players has obviously been in a good S&C program. not a underdeveloped skinny dude out there.. WTF Akins.

When Stans goes, Akins needs to be canned as well.. complete ******** of a S&C program for basketball.

We dont move away from the ball on offense.
We dont follow our shots
We dont pickup and guard tight in the half court
We rely on one player to take over a game
We take poor percentage shots when we have other options (we win because we make these shots)
ONE player on our team plays above the basket.
There is NO role player defensively. Think Michael Gholar, Winsome Frazier, Brandon Vincent.

We have players like Moultrie and Hood who could be playing for Kentucky right now.
We have a player like Bost who in the most important moments....turned the ball over.
A player like Lewis who is really not that good, but plays with more effort than anyone.

Kentucky is not great because of shooting percentage. Shooting percentage is a byproduct of taking better shots.
Kentucky is not great because of being taller or faster. They are great because their taller faster players PLAY HARDER.
Kentucky doest win because their program is better. Their program is better because they have a level of expectation of effort that everyone must give who plays there and as a result, winning happens.

What bothers me the most about the hoops program *is* the hoops program.

In other words, all of the above and then some.

so it was what I voted for. Coaching is so much more than x's and o's. It is total effective management of a program; Surounding self with good assistants, empowering them to do their jobs and accountability for all things.
