After Mt Airy's 49 to 0 expected win over North Stokes, what can you say?
The injuries for Mt Airy continue to grow. Hopefully they are not long standing.
Next, my hat goes off to North Stokes players, fans and Coaches. With only 15 dressed out players, they never gave, they never quit, and they played hard. The Coaches keep coaching, the fans took the victories where they could. They (all 3 parties) represented themselves very well. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Also, congratulations to Surry Central on their victory over Forbush!

Mount airy will be fine. Number 32 is back arguably the best defensive lineman in the state in 1A as a sophomore. He'll be strengthening his leg this week getting ready for East Wilkes on Monday. Number 5 just has a quad bruise in a freak play. He'll be fine and back. Already running around. The big running back will be a few more weeks. Same injury as number 20 who came back this week. The one lineman is back this week. The other one has been released but needs to get better over the next few weeks.

Did you Mt Airy Haters notice the congrats to Surry Central? Mt Airy absolutely demolished then and then they beat Forbush. I know Mt Airy plays "no one" but despite the injuries they have had to deal with, they still have only allowed 12 points in 7 games. Did you get that? 12 points in 7 games! 6 of those came in the late 4th qt against the jv players.
Can somebody please site me any other team in the State, 1A on up, that has(is) done(doing) that?
Fellows, come on, Mt Airy may or may not win the State, but they go out every game and just do their job. One play at a time, one quarter at a time, one game at a time.
And the scary part is, this is a very heavy sophomore team.

That's not what I'm saying. All I'm saying is Mount Airy folks need to pump the brakes a bit.

And if anyone has paid any attention I've been on Mount Airy's side this year.

The fact that grown men spend so much time harping and chest beating on a game that 14-18 year is crazy to begin with, but the lengths it's getting carried out to seems to be a bit crazier.

We love our team so much tradition I have old news paper articles dating to the 70s this program has brought so many memories to this town we are passionate sometimes posting out of all the Mayberry hype Mt Airy gets and the Andy Griffith Show brings it's not important it's how well this football program is performing if you pay attention to the Andy Griffith show the Mayberry Bears are mentioned in a episode of the show where Andy is setting reading the newspaper we are a community team and this community loves and supports them to the end

I and alot are ready for a change. He did bring in some coaches to help. And tbh Adkins still hasn't won a big game at MA yet. Alot of talent helps a coach look good many times. Holder is helping more now also. I did hear that Adkins interviewed for the S Iredell job this summer.

Common sense and personal experience. MA isn’t on that level speed wise. Beating up on Wilkes County and Stokes County is one thing. Relying on speed against teams like E Randolph, Thomasville and many others is going to get MA beat. They will have to maintain methodical drives. Big plays won’t work against those teams.

Perhaps you could talk with 2A 5-2 Surry Central or 3A Ashe County or 2-3 newly 1A Draughn with their 3 pre-season All State players. Maybe you could ask 2-4 2A North Surry.

MA has won big with many starters not playing. And they are physical and have size. #1 is AllState WR. MA 2nd team has played alot and are really good. Beat you runni g throwing and have very good kickers.

Sorry I ruffled your feathers. Thanks for that long nonsensical post that did nothing to change my opinion. Enjoy beating up on the North Stokes of the world. MA doesn’t want to get in a track meet with the teams I mentioned above.

I have saw Thomasville 1st hand..and would put Mt.Airy's overrall team speed right up there with Thomasville's. Bulldogs do have more size though.

Feel like I need to reply to this idiot. Go to the zoo dude you will be in great company. That being said. Mount airy will need to be tested . Hopefully first 2 rounds will do that to them. However that being said. I'm pretty sure athletically they match up with eastern Randolph at the least. 3rd in the state 200 meter is a sophomore. Senior d 1 prospect standing broad jump of 10 foot 5 inches. Numbers 1, 3, 5, 25 all 4.6 4.5 guys. I think they match up. Speed kills. It doesn't always win though. There best trait is their defensive and offensive lines are super quick. We could not block them and we are good up front. Plus I hear 32 is coming back. Leads the state in sacks in 1 a it only plays in three and a half games.

The speed argument has been debunked many times over the years. Let's remember how that convo went for me when I said Statesville would outrun Mitchell last spring.
