Okay, say I'm wrong on the names. Still you had a player bust somebody upside the head with a beer bottle in a bar in Richmond. Underaged drinking, assault, and 40 miles from home. The underaged drinking, and especially the assault can and do carry jail time. We're talking possible felony assault. Did you demand the player be kicked off the team, or were you OK with UK punishing him and giving him a second chance?

Beer bottle? That was the "rumor" but never saw anything definitive on if that actually happened. Drinking? I guess they were drinking, but I don't know for sure. They were at a bar/club in Richmond, we know that. So....what we do know is that an EKU player started a fight. That is on video. After that fight, Drew Barker got sucker punched at a dorm, we know that. All the other stuff about underage drinking, assault and felony this and that, that's for your own speculation or whatever. A drunk EKU player started a fight with some UK football players and he got roughed up. Who would be kicked off the team? Not sure how someone gets kicked off the team when they were never charged with anything. The worst part about the whole thing were the guys not defending Barker in the dorm. But hey, you've probably got other things to worry about right now....

Was said player charged ? Hard to kick a player off the team if he isn't charged with anything.

Ahhh........ So charging someone with something is where we're drawing the line? Okay, what was Pitino charged with? Sypher is in Jail, but what was Pitino charged with? Remember to read through this thread. I don't like Pitino..... at all.

You were talking about kicking a player off the team. Not Pitino. Keep your thoughts straight. I said you can't kick a kid off the team if he wasn't charged.
BTW. Pitino WAS charged with not overseeing McGee by the NCAA.

I hope he stays at UL along with Bobby for years to come.

Pitino?? What a horrible comparison. LOL. No, you're right, he wasn't "charged", his scumbag boss AD gave him a raise after his scandal.

I get your point on that, but we're talking about 19 year old kids. I did some stupid stuff when I was that age, (hell, I still do and I'm 50 now. LOL). People, especially kids are going to do some stupid stuff. In society you pay your price, then you're allowed to rejoin society. Fields paid for what he did by literally being humiliated nationally. Then he got the second chance we all get. I can't recall a single issue with Fields since he's been at UofL.

And let's be truthful..... If he weren't a stud athlete, no one would care about a guy in Texas getting in some trouble and getting kicked out of school.

Let's also be truthful and say that because he is a stud athlete, someone looking to improve their program was going to give him another chance. UofL did, and it's worked out well for all parties.

Drew Barker bashed some dude upside the head with a beer bottle. That's underaged drinking and assault, both crimes. Did you demand that he be thrown off the team or were you okay with him paying his dues and getting a second chance? I was okay with UK punishing him and giving him a second (and last) chance.

Fields beat up a woman. IMO, you don't touch a kid like that.

I would have had no problem if Barker were kicked off the team for what he did. I think Fields' crime was worse, as you can't allow a football player to beat up women. You just can't.

One bit of nuance here is...it's a bit different when you have a family member (i.e. a player on your team) who screws up big-time by hitting someone at a club with a beer bottle vs. going out and recruiting a guy from another team who is a total unknown (except for knowing that he beats up women) and eagerly welcoming him into your team. Two different situations.

Yes he was but it is being appealed so shouldn't one wait to see if it is upheld ?

As far as Fields goes he completed his anger management classes and all charges were dropped before he even came to Louisville.

One a radio announcer shouldn't even have access to a teams game plans in the first place.second if Louisville had that info then it sure didn't help them in the first 3 quarters of the game.
1. Broadcast teams do get access to that kind of info.
2. That doesn't matter. They shouldn't need to cheat to beat WF but they did. That's all that counts. Nixon didn't need Watergate to beat McGovern but he still get impeached for it.

Again the problem for UL is two fold. First they lied about this in a news conference and event got indignant with reporters. Second they have demonstrated that UL is the most corrupt university out there right now. I'd even argue the most corrupt in history. You have prostitution ring going on in your dorms paid for by your coaching staff and for some odd reason the head coach still has his job. And this is his second major sex scandal.

UL has consistently put winning above any form of honor or ethics. It's finally caught up with you. And all of this going on while your university pres got fired financial abuses of the UL foundation, your board has been dissolved by a judge for breaking the law, your school's arena is being audited by the governor and you continue to recruit players who get kicked out of other schools all in the name of winning. You don't deserve the benefit of the doubt in all of this. That school and it's entire organization is a disgrace.

It's really time the NCAA start considering an athletic department level death penalty. All of UL's programs should be banned for a year. It's really gotten that bad at UL.

It still doesn't make sense to me on a couple of fronts.

#1. Say UofL did have the game plan, plays, whatever. They would be in the UofL area of the locker rooms, offices, etc. How would a Wake Forest person be in that area to find such documents? If the documents were there, they would be kept under wraps. Not left out for anyone to find as they were passing through.

#2. Wake was leading in the 3rd quarter. If UofL had them pegged from before the game started, how would Wake be leading in the 3rd? With Wake leading that late in the game, it's pretty obvious that UofL wasn't on top of what Wake was running.

UofL exploded about mid way through the 3rd and scored 30 something unanswered. You honestly think UofL said "let's play this cool, let Wake lead until midway through the third then we'll unload on them"?

Now if UofL blasted them out of the gate, I'd give more credibility to this have possibly happened. But it just doesn't make sense at all with the way the game played out, and that these documents were found in a UofL coaches area by Wake Forest personnel.

Does the visiting team have free access to the UK locker room and coaches areas at CWS? Of course not, and I'm sure they don't at UofL either.

It just doesn't add up to me.
Fair points from your side, Kratz. You're a good poster for a UL fan. Wish I could read more on your site, but I was banned for telling Zipp what he could go do. But, anyway--

My thought is this: if you get caught with your pants down, does it really matter how you were caught? Unless it involved people with ski masks, wielding guns, that is.
