What do y'all think our rotation should be?

I know Cohen needs to experiment and injuries from different pitchers have not helped. But what do y'all think our rotation should look like? I would really like to have a concrete idea of who our starters are.
Obviously Strat is our Friday guy but after that, it is open for debate.

Friday- Stratton
Sat-Graveman?
Sun-?

After last year, I figured Mitchell would be in our top3.

Also, is Bracewell hurt again? Where has he been?

As for our rotation, if it were up to me, I'd run it out there like this:

Fri - Strat
Sat - E. Mitchell
Sun - Graveman

It sucks that Routt has been so bad this season. He had a decent outing today, but still started getting hit after barely an inning. He's got some command issues he needs to fix. And what really sucks is that we're almost out of midweek games for him to use to work it out. We really need him to be that 2nd guy behind Stratton. If he were the Routt he was capable of being, I'd start him on Saturdays and Mitchell on Sundays. But I've been impressed with Graveman so far. He's really been solid except for the Auburn game last Sunday. He's definitely made a big improvement.

a statistical anomaly. He has given up 30 hits in 24 innings. Hopefully, that holds up. He gets in a lot of trouble that he can get out of with a DP ball.

I think you have to move Graveman into the Saturday slot and start Mitchell on Sunday. SEC hitters are batting .190 off of Mitchell as compared to .350 off of Routt.

Friday - Stratton
Saturday - Evan Mitchell
Sunday - Graveman

This is where pitching depth comes into play. A lot of SECteams have Saturday starters that are just as good as their Friday starters. We don't have that luxury. Routt was supposed to be that guy, but his inability to get the job donehas left us a big hole in the Saturday role.

Graveman is good but he'snot going tobe able to go toe to toe on Saturdayswithsome of the SEC teams that have pitching depth, especially if we boot the ball around like we have been his last few starts. Nothing gets a ground ball pitcher out ofhis rhythm more than a defense behind him he can't trust, and we haveenough troubleas it is scoring runs on Saturday. That's why I say move him to Sundays. Better chance to win, and at this point he's the 2nd best starter on the team. Move him to Sunday and I think that gives us a better chance to take a series than using him on Saturday.

I know it's like conceding Saturdays as a loss, but at this point I don't see a better option.

Do you think we will stagger Bracewell and Reed as closers when Bracewell is 100% since Cohen likes to use closers 3+ innings.

Fri- Stratton
Sat.- Graveman
Sun.- Mitchell

I wouldn't be surprised if we start using Bracewell to start some midweek over the next few weeks- but we'll see.

Fri: Stratton<div>Sat: Graveman</div><div>Sun: Routt/Mitchell (Routt if a primarily lefty lineup, Mitchell if mostly righties)</div><div>
</div><div>To me, it doesn't really matter who that 3rd guy is, Cohen just needs to let them know that he will have an extremely quick hook because we have tons of solid arms we can throw. I wouldn't care if we threw a different guy every inning on Sunday if it got us the win. When you throw 2 guys on Friday, 7 on Saturday, and can still run pitchers like Routt, Mitchell, Pollorena, Reed, etc out there on a Sunday, you have a very solid staff. We just don't have a 3rd guy that has separated himself. It can be tough for hitters to get adjusted if you throw a different quality arm every 2-3 innings, so maybe we should try just mixing it up by starting Mitchell, then bring in Routt to face them the 2nd time through the lineup, then Pollorena, etc, like that....it can't do any worse than it has been. I just feel like Cohen is determined to have a certain guy for that 3rd starter, that can get him 6 or 7 innings, but we don't have that and he ends up leaving them out there too long.</div><div>
</div><div>Mitchell threw well today, so maybe we should just go with the hot hand and let him have next Sunday, and then go from there.</div>

Hard to argue with Stratton and Graveman on Fri-Sat. And a quick hook on Sunday no matter who starts.

If Bracewell can come back and be effective, I think Cohenwill use bothBracewell and Reed in that 2 to 3 inning save role. Stratton goes 6 or 8 innings, use Reed the last few and try to get the Friday win. Whoever goes on Saturday try and get 5 out of them, maybe use a Stark for the 6th, then let Bracewell clean it up. Then get 5 to 7 innings out of our Sunday guy and let Reed finish it off.

And honestly, right now I think that's our best way to get series wins. It sucks, but right now I don't seeany consistency from anyone else in the bullpen. We need wins, and I think that scenariogives us the absolute best chance at taking series.

Bracewell was huge to this team, and losing him really hurtus. We could have used him in a 5 inning starting role like we did at the beginning of the season andwe could have used him as a long relief guy out of the bullpen. He could have donesome really important things for us the pastfew series and it'ssucked not having him. Having Stratton/Reed on Friday and Graveman/Bracewell on Sundayor something to that effectgives usour best chance at winsin my opinion. </p>
