don't wear my *** out on this question... at least I've never had to have a tutorial on how to reply...

I just want to be able to look at a post and find out who the poster was responding to

In every message's "box" you'll see the words Quote and Reply... whatever message you want to reply to, go to that message's box, and click Reply.

If you open the entire thread and do a "Quick Reply"... the reply will be to the original message starting post (as this one is).

As this message was a "reply" to my previous one.

Therefore, you can tell this one was a reply to my first one, because it is indented one spot to the right.

I think what he is saying is that once you click on the original post and open the whole thread there are no indentions. At least that's the way it works in IE 8.

Is there a way to see who is replying to who without going back out of the thread and seeing the indentions that way?

I am curious myself I just assumed it cant be done any other way...

Dawgstudent puts them out there with regularity.
Otherwise, go straight down, from the line you wish to reply too. (even though it indents in)
If nesessary, bring up the post you are interested in, and you can see what is posting below it, and reply to that one( the top one)

This should be clear as mud.</p>

on a smartphone? I went to account, settings, preferences but found nothing. I get nothing but the ****** block view on my smartphone. I understand the original poster's frustration with that thread view. Impossible to differentiate replies. And there's no thread tree on a smartphone.

I think Yuku does this on purpose because pulling every thread via a smartphone is a lot bigger hit on the database thus taking a lot longer to load. I can ask if they are any plans to force whatever view the board chooses.
